Guests say

Six Acres House in Rye, Sussex, is a charming cottage praised for its peaceful, rural setting and spacious, well-equipped kitchen. Guests enjoyed the comfortable beds, interesting books, and the secure garden. The property's Bohemian and antique furnishings add to its unique character. While some maintenance issues were noted, the overall experience was very positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

The property was generally found to be clean, though there were isolated comments about a cupboard with leftover food and an oven tray with residue. These seem to be exceptions rather than the rule.

The location is appreciated for its tranquility and proximity to attractions like Rye, Hastings, and National Trust sites. However, some guests noted it is somewhat remote from local facilities, which could be a drawback for those seeking convenience.

Guests found the beds comfortable and the setting peaceful, contributing to a good night's sleep. Some guests mentioned the seating in the lounge was uncomfortable, but this did not significantly detract from the overall comfort.

The kitchen is well-equipped and a superb wet room was highlighted, but there were several mentions of maintenance issues such as door handles, locks, and non-working lights. The lack of a microwave was also noted.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, it is not possible to assess this category.

The setting is peaceful and relaxed and the house has all the amenities, lots of interesting books and very comfy beds. It was well located for visits to Lamb House, Great Dixter, Smallhythe Place and Bodiam Castle and an excellent Sunday lunch at The Ewe & Lamb in Rolvenden. We would happily stay here again.

It has a Bohemian feel about it and is full of antique quirky furnishings as well as eclectic crockery and cutlery, we loved that. I did find the settee and seating in the sitting room uncomfortable but as l didn't spend much time in there it wouldn't put me off rebooking and l'm sure we will.
