Guests say

Thornsdale Oast House in Rye is highly praised for its cleanliness, spaciousness, and well-equipped facilities, making it ideal for family and friends gatherings. Guests appreciate the quiet location, the garden, and the games room, contributing to a delightful stay. Some minor maintenance issues were noted, but overall, the property offers a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

Guests consistently mention the cleanliness of the property, describing it as a 'clean beautiful house,' which indicates a high level of satisfaction in this area.

The property's location is appreciated for its quietness and views, although one guest mentioned difficulty with taxi access in heavy rain. The proximity to Rye and the countryside views contribute to its charm.

The reviews highlight the property's spaciousness and the presence of a games room, suggesting a comfortable environment. However, a suggestion for a curtain to prevent draughts indicates a slight room for improvement.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and enclosed garden. Points for improvement include outdoor lighting and a weighted parasol, as well as a mention of a possible wasp nest.

While guests express gratitude and seem pleased with their experience, there is no specific mention of gifts or special touches that would fall under 'thoughtfulness.' Therefore, this score cannot be provided.

Also worth a visit are Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, Camber Sands and Camber Castle – this area of saltmarsh protects some very special wildlife, and footpaths lead to four birdwatching hides. The picturesque market town of Battle makes for an enjoyable day out, as well as Hastings, the Sealife Centre and Pevensey Castle (where the Romans invaded). The area is also well known for its local vineyards including Chapel Down and Sedlescombe. A trip to Tenterden - often referred to as the Jewel of the Weald - is an alternative and, for garden lovers, Sissinghurst (National Trust) is not to be missed. Thorndale oast was everything we wanted for our bank holiday weekend with the family. The children were happy playing in the garden and the games room. We all enjoyed just relaxing in a very quiet location. The only problem was we think there was a wasp nest in the tree on patio. Happy to return.
