Guests say

Totland offers a peaceful and well-equipped base for exploring the Isle of Wight, with beautiful views over Wootton Creek and easy access to local amenities and attractions. Guests appreciate the cleanliness, dog-friendly features, and thoughtful touches such as games and books. While the location and outlook are frequently praised, some guests mention that the sofas and single beds could be more comfortable, and a few suggest minor updates to furnishings and linens. Overall, Totland is highly recommended for its tranquil setting and convenience.

Most guests found the property clean and tidy, with several positive mentions of cleanliness on arrival. A few noted minor issues such as tired bed linen or the need for a deeper clean, but these were exceptions rather than the rule.

The location is consistently praised for its peacefulness, lovely views over the creek, proximity to the ferry, and easy access to local shops, eateries, and bus routes. Guests found it ideal for exploring the island.

While many guests found the cottage comfortable and cosy, several reviews mention uncomfortable sofas and single beds, particularly for older guests. The main bed is generally well received, but living room seating and some mattresses could be improved.

The property is described as well-equipped, with a good kitchen, games, books, and three bathrooms. Some guests noted the need for new towels and minor maintenance (e.g., heaters), but overall facilities meet holiday needs.

Guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as games, books, and helpful hosts. One guest highlighted the cleaner's effort in returning a forgotten item, though such gestures are not guaranteed for all stays.

Have booked to return next year, so many places to see and go to on the island, can't do them all in a week. Bob the dog refused to get in the car, did not want to leave.

On arrival we found it to be (apparently) well equipped and beautifully furnished. We are a group of 4 Seniors - the seating in the lounge was good looking but gave us all back ache; the mattresses were well past their sell by date and most uncomfortable; we had to use whatever we could find to make mattress toppers ... in fact the twin beds are only suitable for children. The dining table is in the kitchen - it's a very wobbly gate leg table with folding chairs stored inside; there is not room in the kitchen to open the table and eat around it; the chairs are incredibly uncomfortable. The house is in a beautiful location and is well equipped but the furnishings are awful. It's a pity, as potentially, it could have been perfect for our group but we feel that others in our age group need to be aware.

Totland is a pleasant modern cottage in the middle of a group of three, overlooking Wootton Creek. It is a lovely situation, the secure decking area in the front and patio doors make the most of the views. It was our first stay at Totland, but have stayed at its neighbour a couple of times previously.Decor is pleasant and neutral, but a little tired in places. Cleanliness is pretty good, but a bit of a deep-clean wouldn't hurt. Very well presented on arrival. We found the main bed very comfortable. The kitchen is perfectly adequate for a holiday. As mentioned in other reviews, the living room sofas are very uncomfortable, very hard and awkwardly angled. They are sofa-beds, but even so....... They would put me off a future visit.Being dog friendly is a great bonus for us. Especially useful is the downstairs shower. There are lots of great walks, 15 mins walk up the road is the beach overlooking the Solent. Ten minutes inland is the village of Wootton Bridge, it has Tesco and Premier convenience stores, several eateries and takeaways. Bus services around the island are superb. For food, we recommend Terry's fish and chips and Briddlesford Farm for their cooked breakfasts.
