The lodge boasts everything you should need for a quiet getaway. Shanklin, twenty minutes’ walk away or three by train offers many bars, restaurants, the theatre, old village, and world famous Shanklin Chine. Another twenty-minute walk or three minutes by train will bring you to Sandown with its superb sandy beach and pier. Heading towards Sandown, a very short walk will bring you to the path that will lead you down to the glorious beach that offers many cafes. If you want to hire a paddleboard, kayak, or windsurfer then WightWater is the place to visit.
Shanklin seafront makes for a great place to visit. The dinosaur themed crazy golf course is always a popular place to spend a couple of hours. For walkers and cyclists, the lodge is conveniently situated for the footpaths and cycle routes. For E-bikes, outside the lodge you will find outdoor charging sockets. Nearby Lake shops offer several take-away outlets including traditional fish and chips as well as an Indian restaurant. Various other small shops can be found. Here you will also be able to use the bus services to explore the rest of the Island. A Welcome pack consisting of fresh milk, tea and coffee, biscuits, fruit, spa style slippers.

Stayed at this lovely little place for a long weekend at the beginning of October. Easy to find, quiet location.Fantastic view from the upstairs lounge, with the facilities within the lodge more than enough for our stay.Well worth booking.

We had a fabulous week staying in Sunny South Lodge and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hidden gem of a holiday home.It’s perfectly located for leisurely strolls on the beaches around both Shanklin and Sandown, especially appealing for us with our little four-legged friend! The lodge itself is compact but brilliantly laid out with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The outside space is lovely and we were lucky to have nice enough late September/early October weather to enjoy it. Mark, the host is super friendly and helpful and although we didn’t need anything during our stay, I’m sure if we had he would’ve done his best to help. Not hesitating to give the accommodation five stars, I’m sure we will stay again.

We had a fabulous 7 night stay. A great location, sea views and a quiet spot. Not overlooked. A totally enclosed garden that was very safe for our two tiny pooches. The owners had really thought about the needs of their customers. From torches to fans, welcome pack and so much more. . The house itself was spotless and tastefully decorated and furnished. The bed was so comfortable that we came home and bought one! We walked into Sandown most evenings for a meal. Lovely park area with sea view 3 minutes walk away. The only downside was there was no parking, which we knew beforehand. We did manage to park in local streets and this did not take away from our enjoyment. Highly recommended.
