This lovely cottage is in picture-postcard countryside and enjoys open views from most rooms across fields to the Solent. The Hampshire coastline can be seen in the distance. It is in a great walking and cycling area with footpaths and tracks extending in a variety of directions including to the coast at Wootton Creek, the woods of Briddlesford Copse and Arreton Downs. The cottage is in an excellent location for exploring the island with many places to visit within an easy ten-minute drive. These include the island home of Queen Victoria - Osborne House, Quarr Abbey, Havenstreet Steam Railway, Butterfly World, a Lavender Farm and Robin Hill Country Park. The small floating bridge at Cowes offers easy access to the shops of West Cowes and to the countryside and idyllic coves on the west side of the island. The larger east coast sandy beaches of Ryde, Appley and St Helens are also nearby.
Two Dores Hill Cottage is one of a pair of cottages recently renovated to provide comfortable accommodation for two people. The cottage is over 200 years old - beams and original features have been retained. It has been furnished and equipped to a high standard to provide a stylish and relaxing place to stay. On the ground floor there is an open plan living room with a striking dresser, a grandfather clock and inglenook fireplace, plus a Smart TV/Freeview/DVD - a delightful place in relax in front of the warmth of the wood burning stove. There is a dining area and a lovely fitted kitchen equipped with an electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator and small freezer. (Washing machine and drying service available).
Stairs lead up to a double bedroom with a king-size bed, wardrobe and stunning views across fields to the sea; a bathroom with bath, overhead shower, basin and WC. Central heating, electricity and WiFi Internet are all provided without extra charge. The cottage has a beautiful garden to the side of the property with lawns and shrubberies, plus a delightful summer house - the perfect place to relax whilst enjoying the open views. Garden furniture is provided. A car can be parked in the gravel drive. A farm shop and restaurant for lunch is within five minutes walk, plus a nearby emporium with antiques and collectibles.
