Solent Cottage is set in the coastal town of Yarmouth just a few hundred yards from the sea. This smart holiday home is Grade ll listed dating back to the 1700s. The town, famed for it sailing and fishing history, still retains its olde worlde charm, with cobbled lanes, inns, restaurants, shops, church, promenade and pier. The island has a good bus network and numerous walking and cycling routes and tourist parking permits can be purchased using PayByPhone from the council. Guests can walk from the ferry terminus to the property. Shop and pub 200 yards.

Wonderful location, and very characterful cottage - stairs steep, and we needed to time use of the shower for five adults! Our second stay - clearly somewhere we would go back to.

Very comfortable cottage and ideally located. There’s some great restaurants close by and we made use of the cycle hire shop. There is a shower and sink in the en-suite on the first floor but no toilet. The main bathroom is on the second floor and there is a toilet on the ground floor. Parking is not ideal but the permit acquired via PayByPhone allows you to park all over the Island. We have stayed here twice now and would definitely go back again.

Excellent location in quiet (except for Saturday night!) town.House was well equipped and comfortable.Some very stylish interior decoration touchesLack of car parking was a slight inconvenience but manageableA couple of small issues- why not provide him bags? (especially as we were asked to take out the previous week's rubbish for collection)There was no "welcome pack"- why not leave some milk in the fridge, with a packet of biscuits. Little things make a difference
