Guests say

The Rochester Lodge in Canterbury is a well-regarded holiday rental, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and peaceful location. Guests appreciate the dog-friendly environment and the friendly staff. While some minor maintenance issues and cleanliness oversights are mentioned, the overall sentiment is positive, with many guests planning to return.

Most guests found the lodge to be clean and comfortable, with spotless bathrooms and well-maintained areas. A few guests noted minor cleanliness issues such as cobwebs and pigeon droppings, but these seem to be exceptions rather than the norm.

The lodge is appreciated for its great location, offering a peaceful setting close to Canterbury and within driving distance to the coast and local pubs. The quiet, farm-surrounded environment is a highlight for many visitors.

Guests generally find the lodge comfortable, with spacious rooms, large decking areas, and comfortable furniture. Some guests mentioned basic or dated furnishings, but overall, the lodge is considered a comfortable retreat.

The lodge is equipped with good facilities, including a washing machine and dishwasher. Some guests mentioned the need for updating and minor maintenance, such as flickering bulbs and a rickety dining table, but these did not significantly detract from the overall experience.

While guests have expressed satisfaction with the lodge's offerings, there are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts. Therefore, it is not possible to assess this category.

First time staying in a lodge and I thought it was lovely. Some parts of the accommodation would require a bit of TLC and renewing but the size of the bedrooms and the bathrooms were excellent and the kitchen was equipped with washing machine, dishwasher and a fan oven which, unlike in a lot of caravan accommodation, actually cooked the food well. Peaceful site, not far away from Canterbury Town centre, all in all excellent for a quite relaxing break.
