Hafod Station is so quirky, we loved it. It is in a perfect location. We walked to the boardwalk with our dog every morning and sat on the bench looking out to sea, so relaxing and a great start to the day. We were next to the new lighthouse and in walking distance to the old lighthouse which is worth going up for the views. It is also next to the miniature railway and cafe, again worth visiting. There is also the Britannia Inn, plenty of places to eat and drink within walking distance. The little steam train can be seen passing by the kitchen window. We also walked to the Pilot Inn and had a lovely meal there. Again, the walk there is worth it as you pass Prospect Cottage and the abandoned fishing boats. We got fantastic photos of the sunset over the nuclear power station. You can walk there or take the car to the car park by the End of Line cafe and watch the sunset. You can drive to lots of places nearby too, Greatstone, Littlestone, Hythe, Rye, so much choice. You can even see the White Cliffs of Dover and coastline from the living room windows, there is a set of binoculars there which is great for seeing the small birds in the bushes outside too. There are rabbits chasing each other and playing, two wood pigeons who sit in the tree and a beautiful fox who comes to tea every evening and sits at the patio windows looking at you with the most soulful eyes, you can’t not feed her lol. You can watch the weather changing from the living room, the ********* clouds rolling in and then the sun coming out. It is so peaceful and relaxing here. The converted train carriage is so unusual, the floors are glass and wood in places with shingle that looks like train tracks but they also have coloured strip lighting which is just amazing. My description isn’t enough, you need to see it for yourself, you won’t be disappointed. There is a lot of detail that has gone into this accommodation, lots of quirky things around, we had a fantastic time and our dog loved it too. We would definitely come back to stay here again, highly recommend coming here if you want a great time in Dungeness.

My partner and I have been visiting Dungeness multiple times throughout the years and it was a dream come true to stay right on the reserve. Hafod Station is such a beautiful place to stay. The converted railway carriage makes this such a special property. The kitchen amenities were great and we were able to cook our own meals each night. Each room is full of so much character. Waking up by the sea in this place was truly wonderful! Thank you so much!We will definitely be back. Nick and Sam
