What a lovely cottage, we love the history of the cottage and the kids loved it's position right next to the railway. There is plenty of space, we had 6 adults 2 kids and a toddler. A lovely big dining table to share meals around and 2 good size bathrooms. The lounge is a really good size with enough seating areas that we didn't feel on top of each other. The kids appreciated the games. Everywhere was lovely and clean and the kitchen is well stocked with equipment and good storage for us to to make several meals. Appreciated the 2nd fridge and little things like pegs and washing basket were excellent. Location was ideal for railway, the beach and a walk to the dymchurch amusements with the kids. Plus having a couple of shops nearby for any essentialsCommunication was excellent from the owners

My family had a wonderful stay over New Year at The Jolly Boat. It's a very comfortable, homely house and has everything you need. The house was all on one level, so great for people who don't want to navigate stairs and, also, for good quality family time. The layout and interior are quirky and the decor has a boat cabin feel, and really is different from the norm. The local steam railway runs past the front of property and, although the trains were only running for three days over New Year, and not along that section of the railway, we did witness the train go past a few times, ferrying staff backwards and forwards. Not something you see everyday. We did do the steam train trip from New Romney to Dungeness, which was great fun. The landscape at Dungeness is unusual and, we learned, classed as being the only desert in England. There are two shops, nearby, for supplies, and a pub. The communication with the property's owners was excellent and they were most kind and accomodating. I highly recommend a stay here.

A fascinating place to stay with all its history. The cottage easily accommodated our family group and is very provisioned. We had a great time there rushing to the window to wave at the steam trains each time we heard one.
