Spend your days exploring your surroundings or during the winter months cuddle up on the sofa by the crackling wood burner and watch the weather do its worst.
Maple Lodge has a peaceful setting right in the heart of the South Downs National Park, and it makes an idyllic rural retreat from day to day life. Set on a 160km National Trail, the lodge makes just the base for walkers keen to stretch their legs and see as much of the scenery as possible, and with carpets of bluebells and meadows of wildflowers as a backdrop depending on the season, every walk is one to remember. Who knows, you may even spot a red kite soaring high above.
There is so much to do and see in this area, from walking, cycling or horse riding across the Downs, exploring wildlife in the wetlands, visiting one of the many heritage sites to experiencing opera at the world famous Glyndebourne.
The site is adjacent to Hassocks community football club - it is likely guests will hear some low level match noise during games.

Maple lodge is truly lovely. It is set in an idyllic, quiet location but this aside it’s still close to local amenities.The lodge was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The beds were super comfy with quality linens. The bathrooms were great with the biggest, soft towels ever and quality toiletries. The lounge and kitchen area was lovely and light and airy, looking out on to a large deck area and field with lots of birds. Comfortable settee and lovely furnishings.The setting is so peaceful and relaxing. There’s a huge garden centre ‘next door’, we can thoroughly recommend the breakfast.The village of Hassocks is very pleasant with a railway station which has very regular trains to Brighton and some lovely shops, a bakery and lovely micro brewery and only 10 minutes walk away.We highly recommend Maple lodge and would love to return.

Excellent private location and a good hub for exploring with easy access to Brighton from the railway station 15 minutes walk away. The property is well equipped and was always warm and comfortable.

I highly recommend Maple Lodge, it was fantastic! Lovely design, modern, comfortable furniture and beds, spotlessly clean and had everything you'd need - apart from a hoover, which having a dog would have been handy to have a quick whiz round whilst we were there. There is some green space outside the lodge where you can walk round with your dog on a lead. The decking is large but is not enclosed. We loved our time here and it felt like a home away from home and we definitely recommend. Thank you.
