The cottage itself is lovely, beautifully furnished with high-end linen. Very cosy, and reasonably cool whilst we were there in the recent heatwave. The small seating area outside was also cool, welcome in the very hot evenings. We did not use the hosts' garden at all, partly because we could not see how to get in, as access is blocked from the cottage's own parking space and we didn't like to march through what appeared to be their private garden area. As others have mentioned, the Welcome Pack & cream tea on arrival was much appreciated. One slight downside was that we had no hot water apart from the shower, which is a nuisance in the absence of a dishwasher. Apparently there is an immersion heater in the house, which in the end we didn't use because we were away for a couple of nights during our week, so we boiled kettles for washing up! We were out most of the time. Langford itself is subject to roadworks until 2027, and various building projects, one of which is very close to the cottage. Sadly two local pubs have closed in the recent past, the only one within walking distance is average at best. The Crown at Churchill is a great old pub, but doesn't do food in the evening. That said, it's a good base for many local attractions and there is a wealth of useful information in the cottage. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Cosy cottage, very well equipped. A home made afternoon tea was provided- a very pleasant but welcome surprise and there were ample additional touches e.g. salt & pepper, washing up liquid, washing detergent etc. The sort of things it’s easy to forget to bring. There were plenty of books, games and toys for days spent indoors, and suggestions for days out.Furniture is dated but comfortable and perfectly in keeping with the cottage. Location is ideal for both countryside walks and excursions to the coast.

We spent Xmas week at Cow Cottage. The cottage was very well appointed, everything was thought of and it was spotlessly clean. It was cosy and comfortable. We liked the fact that there was an emphasis on environmentally friendly and sustainable products in the cottage. Location was very good, on the edge of the Mendip Hills and only 10 miles from Weston-super-Mare and the coastal paths. After a long drive, it was lovely to be welcomed with home made mince pies, muffins and redcurrant jelly. The nearby independent family run shop " Touts" was a bonus for local shopping and there are good farm shops a short drive away. The cottage was close to good walks in the Mendips and the coastal paths around Weston-super-Mare. We took advantage of these and did as much wa,king as we could, limited daylight hours permitting. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending Cow Cottage. There was, however, one slight drawback which was mentioned in a previous review. The central heating system was warm and efficient ( we were there during a cold December snap) but it is locked into the owners central heating as their home is attached to the cottage. This meant the timer was controlled by the owners. They went to great lengths to check if we were warm enough and gave us a mobile number & told us to knock on their door if we wanted the heating on outside the hours set on their timer. This we did but it was difficult because we were out part of the time and not keeping regular hours. One morning we were unexpectedly up at 6am and couldn't contact them at such an early hour. There was, however, 3 supplementary plug in heaters and we did use them as a back up at odd times.
