Guests say

Badgers Sett is a well-received cottage, praised for its cleanliness, peaceful location, and comfort. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen and the detailed directions provided. The rural setting offers stunning views and local walks, contributing to a relaxing stay. While some guests mention issues with water pressure and Wi-Fi, the overall experience is positive, with many looking forward to returning.

The majority of guests found the cottage to be very clean, with only one review mentioning it was 'very dirty' upon arrival. This seems to be an isolated incident, as the cleanliness is consistently praised in other reviews.

The location is appreciated for its peacefulness and beautiful views, making it an ideal base for touring Cornwall. Some guests found it tricky to find, but detailed directions were helpful. The remote nature of the cottage is seen as a positive aspect, although the narrow access roads were a concern for some.

Guests generally find the cottage comfortable and well-equipped. However, there are several mentions of creaky beds and uncomfortable stools, which suggests that while the overall comfort is good, there is room for improvement in the sleeping arrangements and seating.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, especially the kitchen. However, there are recurring comments about weak Wi-Fi and low shower water pressure. The laundry room was also noted as needing attention. These issues suggest that while the facilities meet needs, they could benefit from updates and improvements.

There are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts, so it is not possible to score this category. However, the provision of detailed directions and the cleanliness of the cottage indicate a level of thoughtfulness towards guests' comfort.

Comfortable, clean and cosy. In a good location for several tourist attractions and areas.

We had everything we needed and enjoyed our stay very much. The drive down single track roads to get there was a bit nerve-wracking when you met another vehicle, but mercifully it was pretty quiet, so ok really.

Situated on a working farm, it was set in gorgeous moorland countryside and was a welcome peaceful retreat from the busy beaches we visited. The WiFi was good, an essential requirement for my 16 year old daughter, the water supply is from a borehole which, as described in the welcome pack, was some of the best I’ve tasted. The water did have lower water pressure than I’m used to but there was always hot water for showers and washing up without having to put the immersion heater on. I used the shared laundry as we were on the beach every day and swimming costumes and towels needed washing and drying - the tumble dryer is awesome and dried towels within 45 minutes!! Being on a working farm you will hear the farm animals …. The chickens wake early but can only really be heard from the single room at the back of the property. However, as compensation, you are also treated to seeing birds of prey, and as we visited during August, various nesting birds and baby rabbits. Google maps get you straight to the property if you enter ‘Helman Tor Cottages’ and it’s in very easy access to the Eden Project and both the north and south Cornish coasts. Jenny, the cottage host, was lovely and accessible if needed. We had a great time and will definitely look to stay here again the next time we are in Cornwall.
