Guests say

Hideaway Cottage in Callington, Cornwall, offers a comfortable and spacious stay with a hot tub and pool, set against a serene woodland backdrop. Guests have praised the property's cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and well-equipped kitchen. While some have noted issues with humidity and dated facilities, the overall experience is enhanced by the property's peaceful location and the staff's helpfulness.

Most guests found Hideaway Cottage to be clean and well-maintained, with one mentioning it was 'lovely and clean'. However, there were concerns about dampness and a musty smell, which slightly affected the score.

The property's location is appreciated for its serene and picturesque setting, surrounded by woodland. The steep walk to on-site amenities was noted, but the overall sentiment towards the location is positive.

Guests have reported the cottage to be comfortable, with a large sofa, comfortable beds, and a spacious environment suitable for families. Some guests experienced issues with cold beds and humidity, but these were not the majority.

The on-site facilities, including a pool and hot tub, were generally well-received. However, some guests found the facilities to be outdated and not well-maintained, particularly the playroom, which impacts the score.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Peaceful, private and cosy. Amenities on the site were great and had everything covered. Shame it came to an end. Would highly recommend thank you for a great experience.

Beds were cold and the amount of reed diffusers seems to mean the property smells musty. Facilities were good. Comfortable and clean. Well equipped in the kitchen. The property is situated at the far end of the valley and surrounded by woodland. Steep walk up to the pools and on site pub and restaurant.

The hot tub was a fantastic bonus, especially given the wet weather. The large sofa and all beds were extremely comfortable, and the Bluetooth stereo was a great addition, allowing us to enjoy our favourite music throughout our stay. The bedrooms were cool and comfortable, and everyone slept great, which was impressive considering we were a group of 8 plus 2 babies! The cottage was spacious and well-equipped to accommodate all of us comfortably. Thank-you for being incredibly understanding and patient when we were running late at checkout, it was greatly appreciated. This level of understanding and flexibility really made a difference to our overall experience. The on-site facilities were excellent, with a warm pool that we thoroughly enjoyed. The surroundings were beautiful, providing a serene and picturesque backdrop to our stay. Overall, Hideaway Cottage exceeded our expectations in every way. We will definitely be booking again for next year and can’t wait to return!
