Guests say

2 Valley View is a well-appreciated lodge in Cornwall, offering a peaceful and private setting with luxury touches such as a double spa bath, sauna, and cinema room. Guests have praised the modern amenities, the tranquil location, and the additional comforts that contribute to a relaxing stay. While some guests noted areas for improvement, the overall experience is one of comfort and enjoyment in a beautiful county.

The lodge generally receives positive remarks for cleanliness, with several guests finding it spotless and well-maintained. However, there are some criticisms regarding specific cleaning issues, such as stained towels, dirty decking, and a poorly maintained vacuum cleaner, which slightly lower the score.

The location is highly praised for its peacefulness and beauty, with many guests appreciating the quiet, private setting. The proximity to local attractions and the countryside setting contribute to a high score, although limited views from the lodge itself are noted.

Guests find the lodge comfortable, with quality fixtures and a luxurious feel. Some guests mention the beds being a bit hard and the furniture not suiting everyone's comfort levels, but overall, the lodge provides a comfortable stay.

The lodge's facilities, including the spa bath, sauna, and cinema room, are well-received. However, there are several mentions of inadequate kitchenware, and some maintenance issues like a lukewarm hot tub and missing instructions, which suggest room for improvement.

While guests have mentioned personal touches such as a Christmas tree, there is not enough consistent information about thoughtful gestures or gifts to accurately score this category. It should be noted that while such touches are appreciated, they are not guaranteed.

About this property

Overlooking peaceful woodland and lakes within the Stonerush Lakes estate near Looe and Polperro, 2 Valley View is a refined, adults-focused lodge designed for privacy, relaxation and easy access to Cornwall’s south coast highlights. With serene natural surroundings, a private spa room and stylish interiors, it’s an excellent choice for couples seeking space, tranquillity and a touch of indulgence.

Inside, the open-plan living area feels bright and thoughtfully arranged. The sleek, well-equipped kitchen makes self-catering straightforward, whether you’re preparing a lazy breakfast or a relaxed evening meal. For something even easier, The Old Mill Bar & Restaurant is just a short stroll away, serving wood-fired pizzas, signature cocktails and seasonal dishes in a welcoming lakeside setting.

After dinner, retreat to the dedicated cinema room, complete with a large screen and reclining chairs, your own private screening experience without leaving the lodge. The bedroom offers a calm, restful space with a comfortable mattress, quality linens and soft lighting to wind down properly.

The standout feature, however, is the private spa room, complete with a sauna and Jacuzzi bath, perfect for unwinding after a day on the coast or warming up during a crisp autumn break. Step outside onto the decked terrace and enjoy uninterrupted views across wooded glades and open countryside. Morning coffee feels slower here; evenings call for a glass of wine as the light fades and wildlife stirs around the lakes.

From your doorstep, gentle trails and nearby bridleways lead towards the River Fowey and the striking cascades of Golitha Falls, ideal for picnics and gentle exploring. Within a short drive, discover the harbour town of Looe with its beach, narrow streets and boat trips, or the timeless fishing village of Polperro. Further afield, visit Talland Bay’s sheltered coves, the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, or even venture north to Padstow and Port Isaac for a change of scenery.

Blending peaceful seclusion, premium comforts and an exceptional location near Cornwall’s most loved coastal spots, 2 Valley View offers couples a relaxing base for memorable escapes in every season.

Lanreath is a village and parish in South-east Cornwall, five miles west of Looe. It has a local shop and Post Office, a small museum, the Lanreath Farm and Folk Museum, as well as a parish church. Nearby Pelynt is home to a parish church, a number of local shops and pubs, especially the Jubilee Inn, which was an original farmhouse which dates back to the 16th Century. Further afield is Looe, as bustling fishing port with a sandy beach which is popular with families.

The cabin had everything we need and the jacuzzi bath, sauna and cinema room were great and made this cabin different to other places available. Customer service was brilliant with general info and emergency telephone numbers emailed prior to arrival. Easy check in and a phone call before 4pm to say we could check in early if we wanted. Really lovely quiet site and dog friendly.

The lodge was spotless, warm and cosy and had everything I needed for a great self catering stay. The staff were warm and welcoming and made me feel instantly at home. The lodge was set in beautiful grounds where the only sound you could hear were the birds in the trees. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful and restful holiday, this is the place to be. Would definitely recommend. Only regret is that I didn't book a longer stay!

The cottage was beautiful and cozy, the staff were friendly and always happy to help. The cottage is in a 'off the beat and path' location making it a peaceful and remote location. I would love to go back.
