Enclosed lawned garden with sitting-out area, decking, garden furniture, firepit and barbecue. Private parking for 3 cars. No smoking.. The Lily Pad is a wonderful and welcoming holiday home, just a few miles from the dramatic Seven Bays of North Cornwall, famed for its stunning beaches, cliffs, and coves. Once inside you are greeted with a bright and airy, open-plan living space with relaxing sofas to sink into, a cosy wood burner (with ‘starter pack’ provided) for those cooler evenings, and attractive floor and wall art unique to the property and evocative of Cornwall and its heritage. You will find lovingly restored furniture and repurposed features in the side tables and display units, turning function into fun! Lead on to the dining area, complete with impressive handmade wooden dining table and seating for ten guests, looking out onto the garden. The wall here is adorned with a fantastic map of the county, a further reminder of the wonders of this amazing region and its many attractions and places to explore! The adjoining kitchen has a small breakfast bar area and plenty of workspace and equipment for preparing breakfast or your evening meal.
There are five bedrooms all on one level, where the unique and upcycled theme continues, with solid pine furniture given a fresh modern look. A roomy family bathroom includes a bath, while a second bathroom features a walk-in shower.
Outside, an excellent decking area with table, chairs and barbecue offers the ideal space to enjoy morning coffee or evening meal al fresco. There is even a firepit!
You are spoilt for a choice of beaches here; Harlyn Bay Beach, just 3 miles away, offers a broad expanse of golden sand stretching far before you. Trevose Headland offers spectacular vistas, whilst further beaches at Treyarnon Bay and beautiful Porthcothan Beach are just a short drive away, with rock pools for all ages to explore! Visit Padstow, with its fabulous seafood restaurants, busy quayside and narrow streets, or vibrant Newquay, with its plethora of vibrant bars and restaurants, and scintillating surfing and water sports activities.
Away from the coast, Camel Valley Theme Park, the world-renowned Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan all offer fun days out, whilst Bodmin Moor is an atmospheric place, with mysterious rock formations and views as far as the eye can see. The options are never ending here, the only question is where will you go tomorrow?
The Lily Pad is located amongst a mixture of holiday homes and residential homes on St Merryn Holiday Park which has the added benefit of offering free to use Tennis Courts, Children’s Play Area, and dedicated dog walking area plus amenities such as a shop and a bar/restaurant.

Looks good in photos but really disappointing.On site facilities virtually non existent. Barbecue falling apart, outside furniture, good when new, but now very tired with no attempt to clean probably for months. Inside cleanliness was poor with bits of torn up tissue left on the floor in one of the bedrooms. Didn't look like a vacuum cleaner had been anywhere near this room. TV in bedroom 1 didn't work at all. a light came on with the remote but no channels available. TV in sitting room kept losing picture and sound intermittently. Not good when trying to watch football. Shower over bath sprayed water out of the bottom of the control unit and sprayed under shower screen, over the floor. Location was good for access to the beaches but the site was depressingly disappointing and Lily Pad was grossly over priced.

This place has so much potential, but, unfortunately upon our arrival we found the place to be in a condition that would suggest it had not been cleaned or aired that day. There were cobwebs in every room and it just smelled as if it had been shut up for some time. There was food waste on the floor in the kitchen, old clothes still in drawers in one of the rooms. The children's bunk bed mattresses were just like sleeping on a bed of springs, no cushioning, so bad the children had to squeeze into the adults bed. The garden furniture cushions are stored in an outside plastic storage, again covered in cobwebs and we spent the first hour or so cleaning the house and the garden furniture. For the price we paid for the week, I think it only reasonable that we shouldn't have had to do this.The advertising pictures are very good, but they don't show the 2 run down buildings next door or the rusting van in the garden, that are not that appealing when you turn into the close.Would I book again, sorry, but it would be a No from me.
