Guests say

The Yellow House in Padstow is a cosy, well-equipped cottage praised for its peaceful setting, lovely views, and convenient parking. Guests appreciate its cleanliness, proximity to Padstow and local amenities, and the charming garden. While the property is comfortable and ideal for exploring the area, some mention dated décor and maintenance issues such as mould and tired paintwork. The walk back from town is steep but manageable. Overall, the cottage offers a pleasant and relaxing base for a Cornish holiday, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

Most guests found the property clean and tidy, with fresh-smelling bedding and a well-presented interior. However, several reviews mention mould in the bathroom and bedrooms, as well as a damp smell, which affected the overall impression for some visitors.

The location is highly praised, with easy access to Padstow, the Camel Trail, and local supermarkets. Guests appreciate the peaceful surroundings and rural views, though note the uphill walk back from town.

The cottage is described as cosy and comfortable, with good beds and a relaxing atmosphere. Some guests found the settee and pillows less comfortable, and noted that the back bedrooms are small, best suited for children.

The house is generally well-equipped, with a good kitchen, washing machine, and parking. However, guests noted missing items (such as Prosecco glasses and a large frying pan), maintenance issues (blown windows, shower door off runners), and a lack of some basics like a hair dryer or clothes airer.

There are no mentions of welcome gifts or special thoughtful touches in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

This house is perfectly situated for exploring Padstow and the surrounding area. The views from the house are beautiful, looking towards the Queen Victoria monument and fields. Just be aware, the walk back from town is up a steep hill. Good for working off the scones, cream and ice creams! However, the decor in the house is tired and the back bedroom window is in need of repair following what looks like a water leak. The paintwork is scuffed and the gloss work is scratched. Considering the amount you pay to stay there, I would expect the decor to be perfect and repairs to be carried out quickly. The outside of the house is tired too.The house is not as well equipped as some I have stayed in with no welcome pack, no hair dryer and no clothes airer. It is hard to dry clothes on the line in the garden when it is cold and wet outside.Saying that, the house is warm and cosy and the beds were extremely comfortable. With some TLC, this house could be perfect. I would be happy to stay there again once it's been redecorated and repairs made.
