Visit nearby Pengersick Castle, parts of which date back to the 16th century and rumoured to be haunted by the ghost of a monk. The South West Coast Path can be accessed right by the property, providing walkers and cyclists with stunning coastal views in both directions along the south coast. Head east along the heritage coastline, amidst heather-clad headland, towards the fishing port of Porthleven, with a pretty harbour, a charming selection of shops, wonderful restaurants and a pier you can stroll along towards the wonderful sandy beach. Slightly inland from this part of the coast you will find the town of Helston, offering a range of amenities and attractions including Flambards Theme Park, the Museum of Cornish Life and within easy reach of the National Trust's Penrose, an area of woodland and farmland surrounding the largest lake in Cornwall, where you can enjoy a host of sublime walking trails. Head west along the coastal path to discover Prussia Cove, boasting four unspoilt coves and mysterious caves, along with Marazion and its host of quaint buildings, shops, galleries and restaurants, as well as a causeway that at low tide grants you access to the island of St Michael's Mount, boasting a charming harbour and impressive fortress. The village of Praa Sands rests between Helston and Marazion on the south coast of Cornwall, known for its mile-long sandy beach and excellent surfing conditions.
