Guests say

Sea Cliff Cottage in St. Austell, Cornwall, is highly praised for its beautiful decor, stunning location, and attentive housekeeping. Guests have enjoyed the well-equipped cinema room, luxurious hot tub, and thoughtful touches like a welcome hamper. While some minor maintenance issues and the effort required to heat the hot tub have been noted, the overall experience is one of comfort, relaxation, and exceptional service.

The cottage received high marks for cleanliness, with many guests noting it was very clean upon arrival. One mention of a minor issue with electrics was quickly resolved, indicating good maintenance of cleanliness standards.

The location is frequently described as excellent, with easy access to coastal walks, local amenities, and stunning views. Some guests found the access route challenging, but this did not significantly detract from the overall positive feedback.

Comfort is consistently highlighted, with guests appreciating the luxurious bedding, spacious rooms, and cosy log burner. A few guests mentioned some furniture being uncomfortable and a bed feeling sloped, which slightly affected the comfort score.

Facilities like the cinema room and hot tub are well-received, but the wood-fired hot tub's heating time and maintenance issues have led to some dissatisfaction. Overall, the facilities are considered good, but there is room for improvement.

Guests have expressed gratitude for the thoughtful touches, such as welcome hampers and treats. While these gestures are highly appreciated, it is politely noted that such gifts are subject to availability and not guaranteed.

We stayed at this beautiful cottage for a week at the end of December 24 and into the New year. It was to celebrate our youngest daughters 18th birthday. Claire went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed, even offered us an extra free night. The hamper was amazing and the cottage was perfect. Such comfy beds and sofas. We enjoyed many walks and the local pub was fantastic. Would recommend 100% staying at this beautiful cottage. Thank you so much for a lovely holiday.

Beds were really comfortable and ample bathrooms for ease and comfort. Very well equipped. Only downside was the time we had to invest in heating hot tub, it took 7 hours and lots of manning, we couldn’t go out because we needed to check the fire. Bit disappointing as our kids expected to be in it every day and we only went in once.

The cottage was fabulous, comfortable, homely, well equipped. Spending each days on the different levels of garden makes it feel as though you have visited different places (steep steps but the up and down is the same as the Cornish coastline), the verandah gives another area and allows you to meet walkers on the coastal path and the friendly neighbours. The cinema room was just the icing on the cake and we had date night as even popcorn was supplied. Claire supplied a yummy hamper all supplied by a local farm shop and was always at the end of the phone for any queries (fabulously helpful). Coastal walks from the door, but we aware that dogs are not allowed on the beach in Pentewen between March and November. Coastal walk to Mevigessey 2 miles and catch the bus back is really easy, bus from the village to Heligan Gardens or hire a bike from the village - and finally The Ship pub in the village was really friendly, good food and served Proper Job ale so hubby Really good holiday, memories made - fabulous cottage, but special thanks to Claire, having a house keeper who knows the area, is helpful and willing to share knowledge adds the sparkle.
