If you can pull yourself away from Portside, it’s only a three minutes’ walk to the blue flag waters of Carbis Bay beach, with access to the SW coast path. Alternatively, hop on the scenic railway for a breath-taking coastal journey to St Ives and its surrounding area. After a holiday at Portside you will be asking, is one week enough?

The beachfront community of Carbis Bay, which is only a short drive from famous St. Ives, is well-known for its stunning stretch of fine, white sand. The beach feels almost subtropical with its turquoise seas and protected surroundings, making it the ideal location for a traditional day by the sea. If sunbathing is not really your thing, why not rent a kayak or stand-up paddleboard (SUP) and venture out on the water instead? The Ocean Sports Centre is located on the beach. Or why not treat yourself to a spa day at the charming hotel that has a gorgeous patio where you can sip cocktails while enjoying the Cornish sunlight and views out onto the beach? Along with a takeout serving fish and chips and a railway branch line, Carbis Bay features a limited selection of neighbourhood stores and eateries. One of the most picturesque train rides in the nation takes passengers from Carbis Bay to St. Ives; St. Ives itself is a wonderful day trip destination with a variety of art galleries to see. There are family-friendly activities nearby, including golf and a wildlife sanctuary, in the quayside town of Hayle. Easily accessible from Carbis Bay, the Godrevy Nature Reserve and Penwith Heritage Coast offer even more opportunities for outdoor and watersports enthusiasts to engage in activities like coasteering and birdwatching. For anyone looking to explore Cornwall's stunning coastline, Carbis Bay is undoubtedly a fantastic vacation destination.

Ives. 1 minute walk from the station which is a 3 minute ride into St. Ives. Facilities in the house are as described and the open plan living/kitchen is of a very high standard. Hot tub is great with the amazing views. We were a family of 4 and plenty of space for more people, can imagine it is beautiful in the warmer months to eat outside on the balcony, we didn’t have the best weather but didn’t stop us. The EV charging point is a great addition to the house. Tesco is only 2 minutes away and the bars, restaurants and cafes in St. Ives are well worth a visit. Easy access to other places such as Lands End, Kyance Cove and Perranporth again with beautiful beaches, views and places to eat.

There is much to like about the property - location, stunning views , very comfortable beds . I loved the spa bath. I stripped the beds prior to leaving, in order to help with housekeeper ( who had been very helpful.) I discovered that the mattress cover and mattress in the master bedroom were badly stained and the duvet in the other big bedroom was also badly stained. Very disappointing.

The property had everything you can think of and the view is stunning. Hopefully we will return soon.
