Chapel View is a spacious and beautifully located holiday cottage in St Ives, offering stunning sea views and excellent amenities for families and groups. Guests praise the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and bright, airy living spaces. The property is ideal for exploring Carbis Bay and St Ives, though the walk to the beach is steep. While the house itself is impressive, some guests noted issues with cleanliness on arrival and minor maintenance concerns. Overall, Chapel View provides a memorable and enjoyable stay with plenty of space and fantastic views.
Several guests reported issues with cleanliness, including unclean bedrooms, bathrooms, and communal areas, as well as blocked drains and dirty balcony furniture. However, bathrooms and kitchens were generally clean, and some issues were promptly addressed by the management.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to the train station, beautiful sea views, and easy access to Carbis Bay and St Ives. The only drawback mentioned is the steep walk to the beach, which is typical for the area.
Guests found the house extremely spacious with comfortable beds and plenty of room for large families. Some minor issues were noted with pillows, but overall comfort levels were high.
The property is well-equipped with a large kitchen, utility area, garage, and en-suite bedrooms. Some maintenance issues were mentioned, such as blocked drains and missing items like an air fryer, but these did not significantly detract from the overall experience.
Guests noted the absence of welcome gifts, hand soap, and bin liners, which would have added a thoughtful touch. While these are not guaranteed, their inclusion would enhance the guest experience.

Lovely holiday cottage. This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Carbis Bay and we love it. Chapel View has everything you need, extremely spacious, beautiful views, well equipped and very comfy beds. The house has amazing views from the top floor bedroom is a double room which is huge, complete with telescope in which looks out to St Ives Harbour. The 2nd floor has a very spacious living area with huge kitchen and dining area and a lovely balcony. Bathroom and a Study which goes out onto a sun terrace. The 1st floor has 3 bedrooms, 2 of which are twin rooms and a double bedroom all with ensuites. The added bonus was use of the garage with washer and dryer in there and a great place to store body/surf/paddle boards and beach stuff. There is also space to park a car in there too. The house has everything you need. What I would like to mention is the time of arrival, online it does state 3pm and 10am departure. But when we got there at 3.10pm the cleaners was still in there and we had to wait until 3.45pm until they left. They told me the arrival was 4pm and the departure was 9am. So I would recommend to check this on booking to save any confusion. Such a great house though and would definitely recommend.

Beautiful house with high spec facilities and fantastic location. What spoilt this was.. we were told we could be in the house at 3pm but the cleaners did not leave until 4pm. We drove past the house at 11.30am and saw the cleaners car so kept ourselves busy until 3, knocked on the door and they ignored us so we sat on the drive waiting for them to leave! The kitchen and bathrooms were clean but the cleanliness of the rest of the house was disappointing. The one bed looked like someone had been sleeping in it as inside and out, there were lots of long black curly hairs! All week we kept finding them! Bedroom drawers were dirty, the bedroom bins looked dirty, there were bogeys stuck to the wall next to the bedroom mirror! There were pubic hairs on the lovely window seat. Crumbs all around the lounge and rice under the dining chairs. The cushions on the dirty sofas were disgusting. We had to get the hoover from the garage and clean ourselves as soon as we arrived! The garage was a mess, lots of dirty laundry bags. The wet room style showers were just not practical as the drains do not drain!! We had to lift the drain and use the sink unblocker to try help! Every shower resulted in 10 minutes of mopping after! The house was probably cleaner when we left than we arrived! Fantastic house and location and still had a great holiday.

All in all a lovely holiday let close to the train station, not so good for those with mobility issues. Paid over £3200 for a week had everything that was needed but could do with better pillows and had a bad smell coming from one of the bathroom drains, though price was a bit steep. The size of the house is perfect for big families and I would stay again but out of main season.
