About this property

Conifers is an attractive, stone-fronted holiday cottage, located at the top end of Rock Road in North Cornwall. A beautifully decorated and furnished self-catering property, Conifers offers well-proportioned and warm spaces, with under-floor heating and an open fire, ensuring a homely retreat at any time of year. Hidden from the road by a thick hedge, the property has a lawned garden and plenty of parking space, along with four stylish bedrooms, accommodating eight guests, and two in the bunk beds. With the contrast of its traditional exterior and contemporary interior, Conifers offers plenty of character and comfort. Cook up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen with its sleek cupboards and slate floor; chill out in the living areas with its deep sofas and cushions; and gaze out onto the countryside from the balcony of the master bedroom, which also has its own dressing area, whilst an unusually spacious family bathroom adds to the feeling of luxury and attention to detail. A holiday in Rock gives you the chance to explore so many of the different aspects of North Cornwall. Local beaches and the village shops are a short drive away, whilst guests can nip over the road to the pub or join the footpath adjacent to the property to walk across the golf course and downhill to Polzeath Beach. From the more tranquil pursuits such as fishing, walking on the coastal path and golf, to adrenaline pumping activities such as windsurfing, sailing, waterskiing as well as surfing and swimming, there is something for everyone, whatever your age or interest. But more important than that, there is the sheer beauty of the scenery; the coastline, ocean, sandy beaches, and pretty villages combine to give breath-taking vistas that surprise and delight all year round. Experience all of this at Conifers.

Rock is a desirable and much sought after coastal village located on the north eastern bank of the River Camel opposite the famous harbour town of Padstow which is easily reached by a regular ferry service. The summer home of royalty and celebrities offering top class restaurants and quality shops, the real draw is the array of watersports including sailing, water skiing, windsurfing and angling. Continuing on a sporting theme, the golf course at nearby St Enodoc is considered to be one of the best in the country. With an abundance of world class beaches all within a short radius it is easy to see why Rock holds its popularity.

Spent 5 hours cleaning it. Was provided with clean linen which was something but still had to make all the beds. An emergency cleaner was sent the next day but she was not familiar with the property and said she found it hard to clean around our belongings. The fridge didn’t work at all which we only discovered towards the end of our stay as all our food went off. Was provided with a bottle of Prosecco as an apology but expected compensation in the form of a monetary refund as the experience really ruined the trip.

The owners have obviously invested money in the soft furnishings which made the property very comfortable. We found it frustrating that certain windows didn’t open especially in the bathrooms. Noted the front windows have been replaced, property would certainly benefit if all the other windows were replaced. Glass coffee table in the snug area not suitable for young children - I would suggest removing it as it’s not needed and blocks the access to the French windows. Maintenance - garden brambles and roses need cutting back in the garden, balcony and windows need a good clean. Despite these little issues we would certainly visit again - good family sized comfortable accommodation,

The weather was glorious which always helps! A couple of minor observations: It is possibly the door lock, but the back door key (from the key safe) is extremely temperamental...unable to enter the property on many occasions subsequently had to use the front door. Window does not open in the ensuite bathroom... lounge window (near the rear fireplace) will not stay open......
