About this property

Little Sailing, a detached, holiday bungalow, resting in a quiet, residential area off the main thoroughfare of Rock, is a practical and attractively furnished home, ideal for a Cornish escape. With the village shops and services just a short walk away, along with proximity to the nearby footpath, leading towards Porthilly Cove and Rock Beach, Little Sailing offers a well-located base for up to six guests and furry companions on request. Guests will enjoy the pretty garden and sunny patio, a haven for alfresco dining, whilst the garage offers additional storage space for beach kit. Well-proportioned rooms give a sense of space; the sitting room feels particularly generous, with light flowing in through wide French windows. The farmhouse-style kitchen/dining room is very well-equipped with a lovely display of local pottery on the dresser; this is a cheerful, bright place to cook and dine as a family. Bedrooms feel fresh and calming; one has a king-size bed, whilst the other two are twin-bedded rooms. A holiday in Rock provides a fabulous Cornish seaside experience; a very fashionable destination, it is no surprise that this part of North Cornwall is so popular. The landscape of azure seas, yellow sands and dark rugged cliffs are mesmerizingly beautiful. Walking with your dog and your family across the beaches with the views across the Camel estuary and out to sea are inspiring and uplifting; no wonder people return to holiday here year after year. Sailing and water-skiing are just a couple of the water sports available at Rock; check out the waves of Polzeath beach for great surfing and boogie-boarding. Daymer Bay is heavenly for children with gentle waters and soft sands, or why not end your break in Wadebridge, full of eateries, shops and riverfront taverns, and access to the Camel Trail (Cycle Way)? All of this awaits by booking Little Sailing.

Rock is a desirable and much sought after coastal village located on the north eastern bank of the River Camel opposite the famous harbour town of Padstow which is easily reached by a regular ferry service. The summer home of royalty and celebrities offering top class restaurants and quality shops, the real draw is the array of watersports including sailing, water skiing, windsurfing and angling. Continuing on a sporting theme, the golf course at nearby St Enodoc is considered to be one of the best in the country. With an abundance of world class beaches all within a short radius it is easy to see why Rock holds its popularity.

We took things to make a cake but everything was there. Lots of lamps and hooks, everything really you needed to feel like home. Great location for walking down to the sea, basically one long road, plus there’s a fabulous pasty shop up the road. One thing to mention, the satnav doesn’t take you directly to that bungalow. It takes you to one on the road opposite, arriving in the dark late at night it took us about 10 minutes to locate it by driving around the block five times, would be really helpful to have further directions to explain exactly where the property is. Outside of this … perfect !!

I was assured that the back garden was secure for my dog. On arrival & inspection the back garden is not secure as there are big gaps in the hedge & no wire fencing. The front garden, where the terrace & patio furniture is, opens directly onto the road & driveway also making it unsafe for dogs & small children. The bungalow is lovely but our stay would have been more relaxed had we been able to open the doors from the lounge onto the patio or from the kitchen onto the back garden. Other customers have reported same in the visitors book. If the fencing was sorted I would happily stay again but not until that.
