Spring Cottage in Devon is praised for its cleanliness, peaceful and rural location, and friendly owner. Guests appreciate the spaciousness, garden, and proximity to local attractions. Some concerns about the shower, lack of WiFi, and gaps in the garden's dog-proofing are noted, but the overall sentiment is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.
The cottage is consistently described as very clean, with only a few minor comments about specific areas. The positive remarks about cleanliness from multiple reviews suggest a high standard is maintained.
The location is highly praised for its tranquility and proximity to local sights, though the steep access road is noted. The rural setting is a highlight for many, contributing to the peaceful experience.
Comfort is generally well-regarded, with mentions of a cosy atmosphere and adequate facilities. However, some guests mention issues with cold temperatures downstairs and the need for extra bedding, which affects the score.
Facilities are adequate but several reviews mention a lack of WiFi, limited TV channels, and issues with the shower and kitchen equipment. While the property meets basic needs, there is room for improvement in this area.
There are mixed comments regarding thoughtfulness; some guests mention a lack of a welcome pack and provisions, while others felt well-attended to by the owner. As gifts are not consistently referenced, a score cannot be provided.

Lovely views. Lots of places to travel to for nice walks. Some walks just up the road. Room upstairs really nice to sit and relax in. Owner very nice and welcoming.

The walking from the cottage is brilliant, and if you use the bus service to and from Barbrooke to Lynton or Lynmouth, it adds to the areas you can walk and see. The cottage has everything you need, but no more. The Garden is nice but not easy to sit out in, and not secure enough to let the dog off. We knew that it didnât have WiFi, and the phone signal is good, but these days as more and more is done over the internet not having it could be an issue in the future. We had a lovely sunny holiday, and really enjoyed our stay.
