The flat was a lovely place to stay, wonderful views and with good access to the beach if you don't mind walking up and down the steep hill, which was fine for us. The property can only be accessed by car by using the very narrow roads, so we limited trips out and made the most of walking and the sea tractor to get to Salcombe centre. We enjoyed Overbeck's National Trust property just round the corner. The flat had all we needed and was comfortable and peaceful.

Clean and comfortable but does not get any sunshine. The drive is steep and covered in gravel with a tight turn to exit, so it's easy to skid when the car wheels loose traction.

Fabulous views, well equipped and a clean property that was good value when booked out of peak season. I think it is fair to point out these things - so why the 2 stars? The outside area is quite shabby, full of weeds, moss and general lack of TLC. It surely wouldn't be hard to jetwash the decking for example to clear moss and make it both safer and more presentable. However, our biggest issue was getting COMPLETLY STUCK in the driveway that we found out has just been covered in gravel stones. It is a steep gradient at the entrance/exit point and at an angle. The first time we tried to leave the property we got stuck with wheels spinning and nothing worked. The gravel was really deep and when combined with the gradient and angle it just isn't fit for purpose. You don't go on holiday expecting to have to call your breakdown cover to get out of the driveway of the property you booked. This is a recent resurfacing job and hence no previous issues. The AA van's back wheels were spinning as well and he had to use two extended tow ropes to ensure he kept his front wheels on a hard surface to avoid the same fate. We were left to sort the situation ourselves with the AA which ruined our whole Saturday afternoon and evening and was quite stressful - thankfully our car is ok. Naturally we parked outside afterwards which defeats the point of the driveway and is much harder for loading/unloading.There was zero duty of care shown from anyone - not even a welfare call the next day to check we had managed to get out safely. A lovely place but book and enter the driveway at your own peril - nobody will help or care if you get stuck despite the issue being on their property and due to the unsuitable surface that is clearly a cheap job.
