About this property

A real gem of a cottage neatly tucked along the corner of Victoria Quay. You’ll find gorgeous interiors and a sunny terrace from where to take in those glorious harbour views.

The Old Lobster Pot is within easy walking distance of the shops and restaurants, and you can practically fall into your boat from the front door!

The Old Lobster Pot was (as the name suggests) a store for lobster pots back in the day for local fisherman. The little store has undergone a transformation into what is now a beautiful seaside bolthole.

Situated along Victoria Quay, this coastal retreat is in the centre of town and on the flat for easy access to the shops and restaurants of Salcombe. Perfect for a couple with a woofer, or a small family looking to be near the waterfront for some crabbing.

Upon entering the cottage through the stable door, the outer hallway is a great place to hang and store your boating kit.

From the inner hallway there are two beautifully presented bedrooms and shower room. The gorgeous kingsize master bedroom has a walk in wardrobe with wonderful vintage doors. With the bedroom door and upper stable door open, you can enjoy views out to sea from your bed.

The second bedroom is a double with plenty of unique charm. There is a brilliant chill-out seating area which can also be made up into an occasional bed (a small single for children).

Upstairs is a bright and airy open plan kitchen, living and dining area, with steps out to the sunny terrace. The terrace overlooks the Salcombe harbour, where the tide ebbs in and out, and is the ultimate sun-trap (until around 6pm in the summer) and a great place to relax with a book or with a drink in hand.

One well behaved dog welcome at the discretion of the owner and an additional £45 per week.

One parking permit for long stay car park provided, but does not guarantee a space.

This charming waterfront cottage is an authentic former fisherman’s lobster pot store. Due to its proximity to the water, some areas may have dampness, which may not be suitable for guests with asthma or other respiratory sensitivities.

Smoking strictly not allowed inside.

Blessed with gorgeous weather in a perfect location. Old Lobster Pot was perfect for a relaxing stay with my daughter. Many thanks

We had a lovely stay thank you. Can’t fault the location and the terrace was such a lovely addition, especially when the sun was shining, our little dog loved laying out there each morning. The location was perfect for walking into the town, heading to the ferry & beach or for the shops & restaurants on Island Street, plus not too far to leave the car at the Creek car park and also for walking to the co-op for provisions or the Bake House for gorgeous baked goods. The kitchen had everything we needed and it was nice to have the table so we could sit and eat.

The kitchen had everything we needed and it was nice to have the table so we could sit and eat. The beds were very comfortable with quality linens; there were four of us staying so the occasional single bed was great for us and provided the extra space we needed. Lovely soft towels and a nice shower room with a very useful hallway for shoes, bags, outerwear.
