Spend time pottering around the cute towns and villages, such as Buckfastleigh and Ivybridge, before setting off on one of the many walking trails through the wild and rugged landscape. Alternatively, journey south, where you’ll find the popular seaside towns of Salcombe and Dartmouth (both within 13 miles). Both towns have a fantastic range of independent shops and eateries, and are great places to try a whole host of water sports. You’ll also find some of the county’s finest beaches, including Bigbury-on-Sea and Blackpool Sands.
