Atlantic House is a spacious, well-equipped cottage in a stunning rural setting, ideal for families and groups seeking a peaceful getaway. Guests praise its cleanliness, comfortable rooms, and excellent facilities including a hot tub, games room, and play areas for children. The location offers beautiful countryside and coastal walks, with breathtaking views and friendly resident animals. While some minor maintenance issues and the remote setting are noted, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests eager to return.
Multiple reviews highlight the property as spotless, immaculate, and very clean throughout, including bathrooms and communal areas. Only minor mentions of flies (expected on a working farm) and a single comment about 'lumpy' duvets were noted, but these did not detract from the overall impression of excellent cleanliness.
The cottage's rural, scenic location is widely praised for its tranquillity, stunning views, and proximity to coastal paths and countryside walks. Guests appreciate the peacefulness and beauty, though some mention the remoteness and winding lanes as a consideration for shopping and travel.
Guests consistently describe the house as cosy, spacious, and comfortable, with warm rooms and comfy beds. The large communal spaces and log burner add to the homely feel. Minor suggestions for improved storage and bedside tables were mentioned, but overall comfort is rated highly.
Facilities are a major highlight, with the well-equipped kitchen, hot tub, games room, play park, and outdoor spaces receiving frequent praise. Some minor maintenance issues (e.g., batteries, bath plugs, kitchen scales) were noted but did not significantly impact enjoyment.
Several guests mention thoughtful touches such as welcome packs with prosecco and beer, and the owners' responsiveness and kindness, especially during a power cut. However, as gifts and extras are not guaranteed, future guests should not expect them as standard.
Atlantic House is an amazing property with a private hot tub and glorious uninterrupted sea views which can be enjoyed from around this location..

Atlantic House is a delightful, spacious, detached property, set amidst the owner’s 17th-century working farm at Blegberry. Beautifully converted from a former barn, this stunning property retains plenty of character with beams, stone walls and feature floors and is presented to a very high standard. The large, superb open plan kitchen/dining/living room takes up the main wing of the property and makes for the perfect gathering of family and friends to enjoy time together whilst taking full advantage of the views. Outside, the sunny patio is the ideal spot to relax watching the waves and spectacular sunsets. The property also has a large courtyard garden, ideal for al fresco dining, and the raised decked area and hot tub add the finishing touches for a holiday to remember. A delightful welcome pack awaits you on your arrival.
The magnificent rugged English Heritage coastline of Hartland and beyond runs across the farm in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering a perfect haven for walking and bird watching or just to get away from the hustle of every day life. From your doorstep, meander down the track and through the cornfield to the secluded Berry Beach. With its sandy gullies and shingle beach, you can while away the days here, rock pooling, boogie boarding, fishing or just relaxing with a good book. There are many circular walks through leafy green lanes, ancient woodland footpaths, bridleways and the South West Coastal Path. You can take in sights such as Hartland Point Lighthouse, Damehole Point, where the final scene of the film ’King Arthur’ was shot starring Kiera Knightley and Clive Owen, Berry Head and Blackpool Mill, where much of the BBC series ’Sense and Sensibility’ was filmed. A 40-minute walk from Blegberry along the coast path will take you to Hartland Quay, with its Maritime Museum, gift shop and pub, family friendly beach and breathtaking views. Why not enjoy a traditional pub lunch and a pint and then meander your way back through the beautiful ancient abbey woods.
Children will love the donkeys Margot, Mavis and Elvis they are a favourite with visitors to Blegberry. There is also a large playing field, and everyone will have fun in the indoor play barn complete with skittle alley, table tennis and pool table, as well as a play area for the little ones. The famous sandy surfing beaches of Westward Ho! and Bude are an easy drive and for family fun, The Big Sheep and The Milky Way adventure parks are close by. There are numerous National Trust properties in the area, as well as the RHS gardens at Rosemoor and Docton Mill. Clovelly, with its quaint cobbled streets and picturesque harbour, is a must. The village of Hartland is just 3 miles and has a good selection of village shops and pubs, all serving local produce. The new film The Salt Path starring Gillian Anderson was partly filmed here. The historic port of Bideford, with its lively market, as well as the Lundy Island ferry and array of shops and other amenities, is just 15 miles. Golf, fishing, sailing, surfing and horse riding available locally. Shops 3 miles, pub 2 miles.

Lovely property, great location if you like walking & kids a little older otherwise a good location to drive to many well known areas, All bedrooms very comfortable, great large dining table inside, could do with better outside lighting around seating area. Remember it is a working farm so a few flies but only to be expected. The kids aged between 1 & 8 enjoyed the small park & donkeys plus the play room was a hit
