Guests say

Atlantic House is highly praised by guests for its spacious, well-equipped interiors, stunning countryside and sea views, and peaceful, remote location. The property is ideal for families and groups, offering excellent amenities such as a games room, hot tub, and play areas for children. Guests appreciate the cleanliness, comfort, and the warm, responsive hosts. Minor issues such as missing kitchen basics and occasional maintenance points are mentioned but do not detract from the overwhelmingly positive experience. The cottage provides a perfect setting for relaxation, celebrations, and exploring the beautiful Devon coast.

Multiple reviews highlight the immaculate condition of the property, describing it as spotless, clean, and well-maintained. Only one minor mention of 'lumpy' duvets was noted, but this did not affect the overall impression of cleanliness.

Guests consistently praise the property's beautiful, remote setting with stunning views of the countryside and sea. The peaceful location, proximity to the South West Coast Path, and access to local attractions are frequently mentioned as highlights.

The cottage is described as cosy, spacious, and comfortable, with homely touches like a woodburner and comfy beds. A few minor suggestions for improved bedroom storage and duvet quality were noted, but overall comfort is rated very highly.

Facilities such as the well-equipped kitchen, games room, hot tub, and play areas receive strong praise. Some guests noted small maintenance issues (e.g., batteries, kitchen scales, bath plugs), but these were considered minor and easily remedied.

Guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as welcome packs with fizz and beer, and the hosts' responsiveness during power cuts. Please note that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Beautifully converted from a former barn, this stunning property retains plenty of character with beams, stone walls and feature floors and is presented to a very high standard. A delightful welcome pack awaits you on your arrival.

The magnificent rugged English Heritage coastline of Hartland and beyond runs across the farm in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering a perfect haven for walking and bird watching or just to get away from the hustle of every day life. From your doorstep, meander down the track and through the cornfield to the secluded Berry Beach. With its sandy gullies and shingle beach, you can while away the days here, rock pooling, boogie boarding, fishing or just relaxing with a good book. There are many circular walks through leafy green lanes, ancient woodland footpaths, bridleways and the South West Coastal Path. You can take in sights such as Hartland Point Lighthouse, Damehole Point, where the final scene of the film ’King Arthur’ was shot starring Kiera Knightley and Clive Owen, Berry Head and Blackpool Mill, where much of the BBC series ’Sense and Sensibility’ was filmed. A 40-minute walk from Blegberry along the coast path will take you to Hartland Quay, with its Maritime Museum, gift shop and pub, family friendly beach and breathtaking views. Why not enjoy a traditional pub lunch and a pint and then meander your way back through the beautiful ancient abbey woods.

Children will love the donkeys Margot, Mavis and Elvis they are a favourite with visitors to Blegberry. There is also a large playing field, and everyone will have fun in the indoor play barn complete with skittle alley, table tennis and pool table, as well as a play area for the little ones. The famous sandy surfing beaches of Westward Ho! and Bude are an easy drive and for family fun, The Big Sheep and The Milky Way adventure parks are close by. There are numerous National Trust properties in the area, as well as the RHS gardens at Rosemoor and Docton Mill. Clovelly, with its quaint cobbled streets and picturesque harbour, is a must. The village of Hartland is just 3 miles and has a good selection of village shops and pubs, all serving local produce. The new film The Salt Path starring Gillian Anderson was partly filmed here. The historic port of Bideford, with its lively market, as well as the Lundy Island ferry and array of shops and other amenities, is just 15 miles. Golf, fishing, sailing, surfing and horse riding available locally. Shops 3 miles, pub 2 miles.

Superb, clean accommodation with comfortable beds, great family spaces, fab onsite facilities and beautiful views. If you're looking for a rural haven, this is definitely the place to be. Great country/coastal walks on the doorstep and the donkeys and play park were a hit with the kids. Lovely clean hot tub. The games room (up steps) was a great addition. Very helpful and friendly owners. Bring everything with you as shops are a fair drive away. Definitely one for a multi-generational family holiday!

Lovely cottage in a fabulous location. The kitchen had all the utensils we needed, as previous reviews have said, take foil and cling film, also kitchen towel and washing up liquid. The coast path is about 15 minutes walk and is beautiful, as is the way back through small lanes. We also visited RHS Rosemoor, Lundy island, kayaked on the river Torridge and visited Docton Mill garden. We had some time to relax and play games around the dining table too.
