Barleycorn is a well-received cottage, praised for its comfort, quality furnishings, and peaceful rural setting. Guests enjoy the presence of farm animals and the welcoming nature of the owners. It serves as a good base for exploring Dorset, with some noting its cleanliness and the thoughtful touch of a welcome pack, although the provision of gifts is not guaranteed.
Reviews consistently mention the cottage being immaculately clean, indicating high standards of cleanliness maintained by the owners.
The location is appreciated for its beautiful countryside and tranquility, though one review mentioned limited access to walks without driving. Its proximity to local attractions and towns like Sherborne is noted positively.
Guests find the cottage cosy and comfortable, with quality furniture and a well-equipped setting contributing to a relaxing stay.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with mentions of a well-equipped cottage. However, some guests suggested improvements such as handrails in the wet room and additional coathooks.
While guests appreciate the welcome pack, there is insufficient information to determine if thoughtfulness extends beyond this gesture. As such, we cannot provide a score for this category.

A cosy comfortable cottage in a very peaceful rural location. Loved being surrounded by all the farm animals. The only slight disappointment was having to keep our dog on a lead in the garden as the bars of the fence are wide enough for a smaller dog to squeeze through.
