The property was spacious, clean and comfortable, but with just a little more care and attention to preparation we would have changed our 'Good' to 'Excellent'. Specifically, there was no foil or kitchen roll, sponge/scourer and no spare toilet rolls, all things that we would expect to be provided for what we paid for this rental. A property of this age requires regular maintenance and while generally tidy, some of the shrubs and trees in the garden need lots of pruning back from the windows. There is adequate parking space, but the access is restricted by the gates, so extra care must be taken. It is recognised that the owner can do nothing about this. On the plus side, the beds were very comfortable, the house was spacious and clean and the provision of comfortable outdoor furniture enabled us to make full use of the extensive garden and enjoy the lovely sunny weather.

Buckshaw lodge really is a tranquil haven in lovely countryside. The house was tastefully furnished and comfortable.
