Good heating system. Decor a bit tired. NO windows could be opened so very hot in the summer and not great for the bedrooms ??The front gate is NOT secure and does not lock at all, so dog etc are able to escape on to a busy road if they wanted to. We secured the gate with string but the postman and leaflet distributors left the gate open and did not secure it when they left - so we need to keep checking.Peaceful and great location, recommend a visit .

Had a wonderful week in this 19th Century cottage which has been updated for modern day living. In a quiet country lane, just a 15-20 minute drive to nearby Sherborne and Yeovil for local shopping, and also exploring the coastal areas from Lullworth to Weymouth and Lyme Regis all within an hours drive. The cottage is ideal for a peaceful getaway and if the weather is good a nice large garden to enjoy the sunshine. Picking a week in October was a gamble on the weather, but was good value for money depsite some dull days. Internet was good for a rural area, and a lovely kitchen/breakfast area with everything we needed as eat in most days, plus a separate dining room and lounge area which was comfortable and relaxing. Yes there were a couple of small things that needed attention, but did not spoil our stay and on the whole was a super week to get away from everyday life.

Had food delivery shortly after arrival so lack of local shops not a problem. Beautiful period property which was very quiet. Dog loved the garden especially watching the sheep in the small adjoining paddock. Watched bats flying & heard owls calling. Also red kites soaring on the thermals. Drive gates & pillars somewhat challenging but no more than a tight parking slot. Generally clean although shower tray floor seemed to be held together with tape (under the slip mat). Wifi great along with Fire stick. Great value for money overall
