About this property

Perched between Newnham and Littledean in the hamlet of Pleasant Stile, Gloucestershire, in the centre of a picturesque network of public footpaths, is this wonderful, two-bedroom detached house, Belvedere. Enjoying a fantastic location within the scenic Forest of Dean and offering epic views over the Severn estuary’s horseshoe bend (featured in Cotswold Life Magazine), Belvedere is idyllic for couples or a family of four. Be welcomed into the open-plan living space, where you can look forward to whipping up delicious treats for your guests in the well-equipped kitchen, complete with handy dishwasher and washing machine, ready to enjoy at the dining table for four. After a hearty meal, if the cosy underfloor heating doesn’t suffice, fire up the woodburning stove, sure to be your pooch’s favourite sleeping spot, and relax on the corner sofa as you select a much-loved film from the smart TV (with built in Alexa) as the evening’s entertainment. When sleep calls, climb the stairs to the first floor where you can choose from two sumptuous double bedrooms to catch your rest in. In the morning, wake-up tired eyes with a refreshing shower before rustling up a steaming cup of coffee ready to enjoy out in the rear garden as your four-legged friend stretches their legs. Explore the local village of Littledean where you will find the charming Bespoke Brewery where you can enjoy a tour of the site and sample the award-winning beer, as well as the Belfry Hotel where you can treat your loved ones to a meal in the hotel’s restaurant, followed by drinks in the bar for a lovely evening without having to venture too far. There is also Frydays Traditional Fish & Chips takeaway where you can savour a tasty fish supper in the comfort of Belvedere. Head down the hill into the charming riverside village of Newnham which is home to a selection of locally run shops, pubs and eateries, offering locally sourced goods. Newnham, a historic shipping village filled with listed buildings, is a popular viewing point for the Severn Bore tidal wave where people travel for miles to watch, kayak or surf this spectacle! Jump in the car to visit the bustling town of Cheltenham to spend the day dressed up to the nines at the races or if that's not for you head to the city of Gloucester to marvel at the Cathedral which was featured in the Harry Potter franchise. If you need to leave your pooch at home, there is a doggy day care and kennels in walking distance from Belvedere. For more impressive filming sites, explore the Forest of Dean to see where Lord of the Rings was brought to life; the Forest of Dean was also home to J.K Rowling! Outdoor enthusiasts are well-catered for with a plethora of activities on offer, including high ropes courses at Go Ape, archery, mountain biking, underground mine tours, arts and crafts, rock climbing or canoeing and kayaking along the River Wye. For those in your party seeking something a little different, why not enjoy a local spa or a spot of forest bathing as you soak up your magnificent surroundings. All this and more awaits with a stay at Belvedere.

Cinderford is perched high above the Forest of Dean, providing visitors with a bird's eye view of the Severn River. To begin your excursions of the area, Cinderford is a great starting point thanks to its many stores and pubs and an open air market and movie theatre. Royal Forest of Dean, England's largest oak forest and a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is located nearby and offers a variety of hiking, biking, and horseback-riding trails. For the more daring, there's caving, abseiling, and a high-wire ropes course, while fishing, golf, kayaking, and canoeing are among popular pastimes in this pristine setting.
