About this property

2 High Street is an attractive, Victorian townhouse nestled in the centre of Newent, Gloucestershire. Situated in a classic, old school high street with lots of pretty buildings on either side, 2 High Street appeals to families and friends looking to escape to this enticing part of the country. The interior is set over three floors and features tall ceilings, sash windows and some original features. After a day of exploring, make yourself at home in the lounge, two sofas (one of which converts to a double bed), an electric stove and Smart TV, ideal for lazy evenings. The kitchen is equipped with all the essentials, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, air fryer, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and a dining table for mealtimes with friends and family. Patio doors lead to the enclosed courtyard with furniture and barbecue, allowing you to enjoy your home-cooked meal in the fresh air. As you make your way to the first floor, you will find a fantastic king-size bedroom in a pink colour tone, making it a wonderful spot to relax after a busy day. Continue up to the second floor, where you will find a 4'6" double room and a twin with en-suite shower room, both decorated in a contemporary style with ample storage space. The twin room has an Xbox and a 50” TV. When you’re ready, set out to wander the market town of Newent, exploring the pubs, restaurants, independent shops, and black and white cottages of the high street. Newent is nestled on the edge of the Forest of Dean and provides an excellent base to explore the forest’s natural beauty. Continue to Gloucester and discover the city’s culture and heritage, delving into the cobbled lanes of the medieval quarter, admiring the stunning cathedral, paying a visit to the Edward Jenner Museum or catching a show at the Gloucester Guildhall. Culture seekers should head to the vibrant Ledbury, a picturesque town on the edge of Malvern Hills, where you can enjoy boutique shopping, a selection of eateries and a range of activities and events taking place throughout the year such as the Ledbury Poetry Festival. From city exploration to country walks, this townhouse provides a great base to enjoy all that Gloucestershire has to offer, creating an unforgettable holiday experience.

One of the most attractive market towns in the Vale of Leadon, Newent, formerly a Roman settlement, offers a wide range of attractions, including the half timbered Old Market Hall dating back to 1668, traditional inns, restaurants, tea rooms and individual shops. Newent is situated on the northern edge of the magnificent Royal Forest of Dean, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering numerous trails that can be explored on foot, bicycle or horseback. Just a short drive away is the popular Three Choirs Vineyard and the delightful waterfront city of Gloucester with its Roman foundations, Victorian docklands and a spectacular Norman Cathedral. The historic market town of Ross-on-Wye is also close by and visitors to this area can enjoy day trips to delightful Hay-on-Wye, the Black Mountains and the scenic Brecon Beacons National Park.
