The Clock House is located in the beautiful village of Bisley, sitting at the head of a combe high on the Cotswolds overlooking the valley of the Stroudwater, or River Frome. The cottage has been modernised to a high standard, boasting a luxurious feel throughout. Great for couples, families or small groups thanks to three generously sized double bedrooms. The master bedroom found on the first floor is impressively sized, fitted with a TV and has its very own en-suite for ultimate privacy. There is another double bedroom on the first floor and the third is located on the second floor.
On the ground floor you will find a bright and spacious, open-plan kitchen and dining area. Patio doors from the dining room lead out to a magnificent, large enclosed garden. The garden is made up of both a patio area with garden furniture, great for those warm summer nights. The lawned area is spacious and great for kids or adults who can enjoy a game of croquet. With two living areas, it is perfect for a bit of privacy to wind down after a long day.
The property is in a great location and is conveniently located near amenities such as a shop and post office 350 yards metres away and a highly rated pub and restaurant 55 yards from the property. You will also find Painswick Golf Course just 8 miles from The Clock House. Cheltenham racecourse is located 25 minute drive from the property. Shop 350 yards, pub and restaurant 55 yards.

We enjoyed our stay at the property which is lovely and the host was very friendly, however there are a few improvements that are needed to justify this as a luxury holiday home. There was no welcome pack as advertised, we expected toiletries to be included as in other luxury properties we’ve stayed in, a number of the ceiling spot light bulbs needed replacing, the outside light wasn’t working and we didn’t find a torch, a tv wasn’t working in one of the lounges, there was no WiFi signal in one of the lounges and generally there needed to be more attention to detail. These didn’t ruin our stay but they are easy fixes that would have made our stay even more enjoyable and after all we paid for a luxury property.

We had a lovely stay at the Clock House. Overall it was a good location and great to have separate lounges plus a well equipped kitchen. However, the property is advertised as luxury and there’s too many things that aren’t quite right to be considered as luxury. The entrance to the property is only through electric gates located on a busy road through the village. The way back out onto the road is totally obstructed by bamboos growing on the verge. There’s evidence that a mirror had been installed but all that remains is a broken bracket. A bit of attention to replace all the broken bulbs ranging from the main en suite bathroom to the left hand lounge as well as the outside light by the front door. A WiFi signal repeater to the left hand lounge would also be a great addition as signal was very variable and dropped out of range frequently! As for the spiral staircases, there’s no mention of these either nor a welcome pack as mentioned.If we’d known about these things beforehand it wouldn’t have made it to our shortlist especially considering we were staying with elderly friends. Such a shame.
