There are cobbled, pedestrianised streets with rivulets running down, and an array of cafés, individual shops, leisure and entertainment. Each bedroom has its own bathroom or shower room, some of which are en-suite and each room comes with a hairdryer. The building sits next to the River Mells facing Jeffries Mill sluice and weir. Both cottages have riverside sitting areas from which to relax with a drink and enjoy the wildlife and ever changing river setting - there are always plenty of birds and you may be lucky enough to see the heron, dippers, kingfisher, fish jumping and otters. There are many picturesque villages within the region, offering great country and riverside walks, with a welcoming pub at the end. The area makes an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding attractions, including Stonehenge, Longleat House, Safari Park and Gardens, Wells Cathedral and Bishops Palace, the spiritual town of Glastonbury with its abbey and tor, the amazing Cheddar Gorge, the designer outlet village at Street, a number of National Trust properties and the Roman city of Bath, with its Georgian buildings, sweeping crescents, spa baths and lively culture. We absolutely loved our stay at Jeffries Mill. The accommodation was fantastic. Clean, spacious (the pictures do not portray how spacious it is) well equipped and comfortable. Outside was magnificent. Tranquil, relaxing with an abundance of wildlife for those that appreciate it. The owner (Rachel) was very friendly and helpful. Frome is very pleasant and we also had days out in Bath and Longleat which are close by. All in all, excellent.

One of the very best as a cottage in terms of quality; but even more impressive for nature lovers/photographers it is outstanding with the river Mells, mill race, weir and pool immediately below the cottage terrace and patio. There is certain viewing of kingfishers, dippers, grey wagtails, herons, moorhen as well as the usual common birds - plus the possibility of seeing otters and even beavers. Buzzards also fly over.
