This fabulous, detached holiday property is situated just a mile from the charming village of Wedmore, known for its abundance of shops, cafés, and restaurants. The Lodge serves as a great base for exploring this picturesque part of the country. Nearby, you’ll find the historic city of Wells with its famous cathedral and Bishops Palace, the mystical town of Glastonbury, and the stunning Cheddar Gorge with its fascinating caves. Additionally, Bath is only an hour’s drive away, offering attractions such as the Roman baths and Thermae Spa.

General location, holds sentimental value so was the best thing about our stay. Amenities etc. 15-30 minutes drive out. & as expected. Overall booking of 4 weeks - cannot recommend that length of stay without improvements. We were offered a full refund on arrival, but considering the booking was over Christmas & New Year and 3.5 hours of travel to reach, this is not something we could accept without incurring significant further cost. Overall cleanliness not up to scratch. Had to scrub the washing machine & bathroom. Dirty items in the kitchen.Pillows were old & discoloured - replacements were provided, but the cheapest possible & gave me a sore neck through lack of support. Towels provided were full of damp & not usable, even with rewashing. The 2 seater sofa needs replacing. Pipe coming from the bathroom makes the entirety of the upstairs smell very strongly of cabbage & needs attending to.Had a lot of trouble ensuring the door was locked on the property, not sure the mechanism catches properly - needs replacing. Small things & some not so small things - sorting these things out would make for a fabulous property. Garden was great for my dog.Neighbours were lovely (warned us about their yearly NYE fireworks display as they spotted we had a canine, which was greatly appreciated). Really appreciated the decorations for Christmas.
