Tastefully converted and furnished and equipped to a very good standard this former barn (adjoining the owner’s home set in 1 acre) is located on the edge of this attractive village with excellent pub a short walk away, close to the historic market town of Ilminster, and approximately 10 miles from the county town of Taunton. The beautiful east Devon and Dorset coasts with Lyme Regis, Seaton and Sidmouth easily reached. Also Exeter and Bath. Local attractions include Montacute House, Barrington Court (NT) and Forde Abbey. An ideal holiday base to explore this area which is rich in history and legend. Pub and shop ¼ mile.

The Pottery Cottage surpassed all our expectations. It is spacious, has a lovely garden, large bedrooms, well equipped kitchen, and all other things you might need. As a bonus we had fab weather which made our stay here super special. Our hosts S&B made us more than welcome and gave a lot of tips for places to visit in the area. There is a very nice pub ‘The Five Dials Inn’ in the village that serves good food at reasonable prices. Slight minus is the shower cubicle. It has an electric water heater that produces only a trickle of water. There must be better solutions even with a low water pressure situation. But that aside. We definitely recommend The Pottery Cottage as a place to stay and as a base from where to explore Somerset and surrounding Counties.

Our hosts Barry and Sue were very friendly and helpful. We had a great restful time there following a busy schedule in the area. Having flown in from Thailand, the log fire was a real blessing and a throwback to our younger days. Great place for a break in the countryside
