The Cottage in Yeovil is praised for its peaceful, idyllic location and welcoming hosts. Guests highlight the spotless cleanliness, well-equipped kitchen, and relaxing hot tub. The property is dog-friendly and offers a homely atmosphere, especially during festive stays. While most found the cottage comfortable, a few noted minor issues such as cold floors, tired seating, and some practical points for families with young children. Overall, guests enjoyed their stay and would recommend the property for a tranquil countryside break.

Multiple reviews describe the cottage as 'spotless', 'very clean', and 'clean and tidy', indicating a consistently high standard of cleanliness throughout the property.

Guests consistently mention the peaceful, quiet, and idyllic countryside setting, with beautiful surroundings. The only minor drawback noted is the rural location being a 20-minute drive from the nearest supermarket.

The king-size bed is described as extremely comfortable, and the cottage is generally considered cosy. Some guests noted cold floors and a slightly tired seating area, particularly for families with young children, but overall comfort remains high.

The hot tub, well-equipped kitchen, and good-sized garden are frequently praised. Minor issues include a temperamental French door, a less secure high chair, and a shower that may be tricky for young children. Maintenance is generally good, with only small improvements suggested.

Guests appreciated the welcoming hosts and thoughtful touches, such as a Christmas tree to create a homely atmosphere. Please note that such gifts or extras are not guaranteed for every stay.

We had a generally pleasant stay, with some lovely features, but there are a few points future guests may find helpful to be aware of.The cottage looks as it does in the photos, which is always reassuring. The hot tub was a real highlight and something both myself and the children thoroughly enjoyed. The garden is a good size, and the kitchen is well equipped with everything you might need. The king-size bed was also extremely comfortable – one of the best we’ve slept in outside our own home. While the cottage has a traditional style, it didn’t feel quite as cosy in practice as we had expected. The floors are uncarpeted and can feel quite cold, particularly in a property with higher ceilings. As we were travelling with a 15-month-old who spends a lot of time on the floor, this was something we noticed more. There were also no blankets available, which would have helped make the space feel warmer and more comfortable. The seating area felt a little tired and could be more inviting. The bathroom was well equipped, although the shower was slightly difficult to manage for young children – the rainfall shower was fine, but the handheld shower had quite strong pressure even on the lowest setting, so we ended up using the bath instead. There were also a couple of practical points to note. The high chair provided did not feel particularly secure, as the cover came loose several times, which startled our toddler. In addition, while the garden is a good size, it may not be fully secure for very small dogs, as there were a couple of gaps that we needed to block. The French doors to the garden could be a little temperamental, and the heating was set on the lower side on arrival, although it can be adjusted. The cottage is also in a fairly quiet, more rural location, with the nearest supermarket around a 20-minute drive away, which is worth planning for. There was also a planned power cut during our stay, which lasted approximately five hours. We were informed in advance and were out for part of that time, so it did not significantly affect us, but it may be something to bear in mind when planning how you use the property and its facilities.Overall, we did enjoy aspects of our stay, particularly the hot tub and the comfortable bed. With a few small improvements to comfort and practical details, this could be an even more enjoyable stay, especially for families with young children.

We had an excellent stay at the cottage. The location was idyllic and the host could not have been any more helpful. We were visiting for an event in Bath, and the tranquil escape was perfect.
