It is nestled in the tranquil village of Nynehead, two miles from the ancient market town of Wellington. With two pretty bedrooms, a charming living and dining room, a modern kitchen and use of a garden and shared tennis court opposite the cottage, it is a lovely holiday pick that invites relaxation. Sitting on the fabulous Sustrans cycle route, this location offers a wonderful combination of holiday activities. You can explore Exmoor and the Quantock Hills, head to the blissful Somerset beaches, discover Cheddar Gorge and its caves, enjoy a trip on the West Somerset Railway or go south to visit the iconic Durdle Door, Lyme Regis and Bridport or hike the South West Coast Path.

Wellington sits seven miles south west of Taunton, near the border of Devon which runs along the stunning Blackdown Hills. It is a friendly town which sits in the wide valley between the hills and Brendon. Wellington gave its name to the famous Iron Duke, victor of the Battle of Waterloo. A 175ft column was built on the scarp edge of the Blackdowns in his honour and at night is an illuminated landmark for miles around. Wellington enjoys a lovely range of shops and eateries and a delightful park as well as the ‘Wellesley’ the town’s unique 1930’s cinema. Taunton offers an endless list of family entertainment all year round. Exmoor is a walker’s paradise. With gorgeous views and wonderful walking trails, you can discover Horner Wood Walk, the East Lyn Valley and the coastal path. The South West Coast Path passes through the beautiful Porlock Weir and finishes in Poole, Dorset. The coastal footpath links up with many other walking trails surrounding Porlock Weir. The Coleridge Way passes through thirty six miles of beautiful Somerset countryside including the Quantock Hills, the Brendon Hills and Exmoor, a landscape that inspired Coleridge to produce some of his best work. Exmoor also enjoy some of the best road and off-road cycling with many steep valley climbs and fast descents. The Blackdown Hills are also designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is an unspoilt rural area with diverse landscapes and unique geology, all scattered with small villages, hamlets and isolated farmsteads.

Tone Cottage is very homely and comes with a delightful range of pine furnishings. The ground floor is home to your living space with a comfy sofa, colourful accent chairs, an original fireplace and electric fire and a dining table. A television is provided for your entertainment. The bright and airy kitchen is modern and offers good appliances for your self-catering stay. The family bathroom is also downstairs with a bath and overhead shower.

Upstairs, you will discover the cottage’s two bedrooms, both with calm, natural colour palettes and pine furnishings. One room offers a comfy double bed and the other enjoys twins.

Just across the road is a garden where you can chill, listen for birdsong and enjoy a chilled glass of something delicious while you bask in the last of the day’s rays. The shared tennis court is perfect for tennis fans so don’t forget to pack your racquets and balls.

Tone Cottage enjoys a tranquil, rural location close to Somerset’s market town of Wellington. You can also head north to Somerset’s glorious coastline or south to Devon and Dorset’s Jurassic coast.

You can take some of the effort out of the rides by hiring an electric bike at Exmoor Unplugged. Horse riding is also popular on Exmoor. Burrowhayes Farm in West Luccombe organises escorted rides for mixed abilities and Brendon Manor Riding Stables near Lynton also has a range of horses for all abilities. Exmoor was designated Europe’s first International Dark Sky Reserve by the Dark Sky Association. You can pick a clear night and enjoy a fantastic star gazing experience.

Watchet’s history colours every part of the town. Watchet port was highly valued by Alfred the Great as he attempted to fend off the Vikings. It even had its own mint and before that there was an Iron Age fort that still has fragments evident today. The port thrived in the 19th century when iron ore from the Brendon Hills was exported to Wales. In 2000, the harbour was converted to a modern marina. The town is littered with quaint, independent shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants. Watchet attracts railway enthusiasts for its West Somerset Railway and walkers for the Coleridge Way, The Mineral Line and the West Somerset coastal path. There are breathtaking walks towards St Audries and the Quantock Hills to the east and the Brendon Hills and Exmoor to the west. The pretty coastal village of Porlock is within easy reach as is Dunster with its ancient castle and Minehead with its endless list of tourist attractions.

Parks serve as the spot that brings your community and visitors together to chill and enjoy the beauty of nature while engaging in their activities, or just relaxing. A good

Tiverton is also brimming with history and heritage with romantic castles, historic houses and horse drawn barges. It is surrounded by traditional thatched villages, rural countryside walks and wildlife. On the outskirts of the town is the Grand Western Canal with an amazing twenty four bridges along its eleven mile strech. It is a beauty spot with yellow flags, arrowheads, darting dragonflies, coots, mallards and moorhens. There is a lovely scenic towpath walk or you can take a trip afloat on a painted barge drawn by magnificent shire horses. Otherwise you can purchase a day permit from the Canal Ranger Service and explore on a canoe, kayak or paddleboard. Tiverton boasts its beautiful Tiverton Castle, a royal fortress commissioned in 1106 by Henry I and the 11th century Bickleigh Castle with its wonderful moated gardens. Another fantastic building is the National Trust property Knightshayes Court which was built in 1869. It is one of the finest surviving Gothic Revival houses with its medieval romantic interiors, rich decoration and fantastic ceramics. The award-winning Tiverton Museum of Mid Devon Life offers fourteen galleries where you will learn about Tiverton’s rich history. Tiverton also boasts a wonderful selection of eateries and unique independent shops selling handmade crafts, gifts and local produce.
