Below Deck is a spacious one-bedroom apartment located on the lower ground floor of the owner’s home. Torquay has many hills it was historically built on ‘seven hills’ which provide the backdrop to a waterfront scene down in the marina, pier and seafront. The property is based in a quiet residential part of Torquay, although conveniently just a 10-minute walk down hill into town or an 18-minute walk to the beach, marina and the English Riviera’s coastline.
The apartment is furnished to a very high standard, and the galley kitchen is well equipped with quality kitchenware and appliances. The large living/dining room is the perfect space to read a book in front of the cosy glows of the wood burner or enjoy a film on the Smart TV. There’s also a handy study area here in case you should need to get any urgent emails done whilst away. There is a pretty enclosed patio area at the front entrance secured by a gate with outdoor seating; the perfect spot to enjoy a refreshing glass of something after a busy day exploring Torbay. As the evening draws to a close, discover the stylish super kingsized bedroom which leads off the living room, and there’s an adjacent shower room with luxurious floor to ceiling tiles and contemporary fittings.
This beautiful holiday home is just a short walk to the town centre and seafront, where you will find an array of shops, restaurants and independent cafés serving excellent coffee and fresh local fare. Many attractions are nearby, including Kent’s Cavern, Babbacombe Model Village, Bygones and Torquay Museum.
View the coast from a different perspective by enjoying a scenic ferry crossing to the neighbouring towns of Paignton and Brixham, or by taking a fishing trip. For those who like to keep their feet on firm ground, the South West Coast Path with its fantastic scenery is within walking distance. We have just enjoyed a lovely week at Below Deck. The living area is well equipped, everything you could need. I was delighted to stay somewhere with plenty of headroom! Nice and cosy and cool.Two nights we had a little barbecue out on the patio area, it was all just lovely. One thing which is not really a criticism, local topography is what it is, but there are some serious hills about.Hills aside we have very fond memories of our stay at Below Deck and would definitely recommend.

Tucked away and quiet. This is a fantastic place to stay with all the facilities you could want. Super comfy wonderfully big bed and fabulous shower. Fully equipped kitchen and modern decor. The only downsides I can come up with are: if you want to walk into town there is an extremely steep hill to navigate (wouldn’t recommend trying to go down it in heels!) The other which is very minor, there are no supplied toiletries.We would definitely recommend staying here and won’t hesitate to book again.
