About this property

A cosy studio apartment with panoramic sea views across the bayA cosy studio apartment with panoramic sea views across the bay

Maidencombe is a studio apartment featuring a furnished balcony, offering superb views over Torbay. The apartment is situated within the Bay Fort Mansions development which benefits from beautiful communal gardens with a gate leading directly onto Rock Walk allowing access to Torre Abbey Sands, The Princess Theatre, Torquay Marina, and the harbour area with it’s various bars and restaurants.

Bay Fort Mansions is a lovely Victorian villa, sympathetically converted into apartments to retain the beautiful original features of the property, whilst incorporating modern appliances for up to date needs. Its location, above Rock Walk and facing south, features views over Torquay and across the bay to Paignton and Brixham. Bay Fort Mansions has recently received a Blue Plaque from English Heritage in recognition of Second World War heroine, Muriel Byck.

With unrestricted views, guests can marvel at the annual firework displays, watch the amazing Red Arrows as part of Torbay Regatta or simply relax and absorb the stunning panoramic views stretching along the coast.

Torquay is home to an array of popular attractions, many of which are within short walking distance, including the marine themed Living Coasts and the historic Tor Abbey with it’s Spanish Barn. Other attractions in the town include the pre-historic caves at Kents Cavern, Babbacombe Model Village and a step back in time at Bygones.

Torquay is also the birth place of the world famous crime writer Agatha Christie, and many guests of Blue Chip's apartments follow in her footsteps along the Agatha Christie Mile and discover what inspired her. For those in search of some tranquillity then Cockington Country Parks offers miles of woodland and parkland to explore.

Beyond Torquay there are regular bus and train services to Plymouth and Exeter, with the train station only a 15 minute walk away. Take time to also visit iconic Dartmoor National Park and experience the raw natural beauty of Devon.

Excellent location with a superb view over Torbay. Easy walk down to the seafront. Very clean. Although we went in August we didn't have any difficulty parking close on the street. We would definitely go again.

Really excellent property - couple with our 4 month old baby. Had everything you needed in a compact space. Would recommend for couples - lovely balcony and view was amazing. Everything up to date and good interior. Glad we found it!

We enjoyed our visit to Torquay immensely, we were very fortunate with the weather which was good for May, and made our accommodation very acceptable because of the beautiful view over the bay. We were able to sit on the balcony to have our meals, and to read and to enjoy the lovely view. We spent some time touring the area, visiting the Eden project and the moors and made a trip to Exeter. So all in all we enjoyed our visit and hope to go again sometime in the future.
