About this property

Tucked away in the bustling seaside town of Southend-on-Sea is this large, semi-detached house, 98 Victoria Road. A great base for exploring the South of England, there are plenty of amenities, attractions, and sandy beaches a stone's throw away, as well as thoughtfully appointed living areas and a large, enclosed garden. Two off-road parking spaces welcome you on arrival to unpack and make yourself at home with ease. Head straight to the bright kitchen/diner with seating for six to savour family dinners together. Stock up the kitchen cupboards and rustle up home-cooked meals with the electric oven, grill and hob, microwave, and fridge/freezer. Just next door is a handy utility with a washer and dryer to quickly clean sandy towels and bathing suits ready for another day by the sea! When it's time to relax, sink into the sofas of the large sitting room with homely décor, a feature fireplace, and TV with Sky to catch your favourite shows. Alternatively, step outside on summer evenings into your private, enclosed garden where the little ones can play, pick strawberries and tomatoes from the garden patch, and you can prepare tasty treats on the barbecue! As night draws in, freshen up in the ground-floor shower room or climb the stairs for a comforting bubble bath before bed. Two large double bedrooms offer ample storage space and beautiful, original fireplaces, alongside a bunk bedroom for two younger guests. Explore your local surroundings in Southend-On-Sea; spend the day at Adventure Island, Sealife Adventure, or stroll along the world's longest pier for classic seaside amusements! Southchurch Park is nearby for picnics or pack your towels, buckets and spades for Jubilee Beach lined with beachfront shops and eateries, whilst the centre is home to Southend Central Museum & Planetarium. Just north lies idyllic countryside such as Barling Magna Wildlife Reserve and boat trips into the wetlands to visit the likes of Wallasea Island. With excellent rail links from Southend-On-Sea, spend the day in Chelmsford for plenty of family-friendly restaurants, a leisure centre, and historic sites such as the 11th-century cathedral, and nearby manor houses for activities and tours of Boreham House and Hylands House. Why not hop on the train and visit the historic, vibrant city of London? The British Museum, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and Kensington Palace are just some of the spectacular sights on offer! A fun-filled holiday with your loved ones awaits at 98 Victoria Road.

Since Georgian times, Southend-on-Sea has been a tourist magnet, attracting over 6.5 million visitors each year. There's no doubt that Southend-on-Sea provides families and friends the perfect site to enjoy a typical seaside holiday, with 7 miles of beaches and "the world's longest pleasure pier" at 1.34 miles, but with over 80 parks and 14 conservation areas to enjoy, Southend-on-Sea is so much more. During the day, tourists may enjoy anything from a plunge in the sea to relaxing on the beaches, as well as a variety of watersports and boat cruises, art galleries and museums, and afternoon tea on the pier.

Property only superficially clean and safety issues identified. Could only stay for one day of a full weeks holiday due to concerns about health.

As we were 4 adults needing 3 bedrooms one used the bottom bunk which was not as comfortable. It was good to have a second toilet and walk in shower but it was not a wet room as on the listing. We were advised to bring tea towel, oven gloves, and laundry detergent. So we were pleasantly surprised to find these provided as well as aprons, washing up material. So many thanks but it would be good to update listings to say these are provided.

The reclining chairs were very welcome after a busy day. The double bedrooms were spacious with comfy beds. The kitchen dining room was light and so well equipped. We were thankful for the welcome pack and enjoyed picking tomatoes from the lovely garden. The location was in a quiet street and not too far from the town. We had a really good stay here.
