Set on a working arable farm on the outskirts of the pretty Warwickshire village of Bidford-on-Avon, The Granary is a lovely semi-detached barn conversion and sits overlooking the surrounding countryside and farmland. This is a perfect place to stay for a small family, couples or friends looking to explore the area and great for your four-legged friend too. After a day out, come back and relax in front of the cosy wood burner, or on a lovely evening, sit and enjoy a glass of wine or two in the enclosed garden.
Bidford-on-Avon as a settlement dates back to Roman times, with the bridge as its centre piece dating back to the 15th century. Today, it has a fabulous mix of tranquillity, with walks through the meadow and along the river, to bustling pubs and bars with live bands and events going on throughout the summer. The river is a popular route with boats travelling from Stratford-upon-Avon to Tewkesbury, so on a nice summer’s day, have a picnic in the meadow and watch the world go by.
The village is in the heart of Shakespeare Country, only 10 minutes from Stratford-upon-Avon where you can find an abundance of shops, pubs, restaurants and historic houses, including William Shakespeare’s birthplace, or enjoy a play at the Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre. The Granary is also a stone’s throw from the beautiful Cotswolds, where you can take in the picturesque towns and villages and enjoy a traditional cream tea. The Vale of Evesham is close by and grows a variety of produce in the area, so be sure to stop at one of the many farm shops. Shop, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.
