  Tor cottage has many lovely features but there are one or two downsides.

  There were four of us staying and we all had our own space. The kitchen is well laid out but would be a bit busy with 7 people. Extra chairs or a bean bag in the lounge would also help. My elder daughter's friend popped in for a few meals and 5 were easily accommodated around the table. The parking was occasionally an issue and it is a steep walk up to the parking in front of the cafe. Our driver did not want to reverse in because there is a steep drop on one side of the access road. It is also about 90 paces from the house to the parking and one or two of the path slabs are uneven. I found what I assume was the boiler to be quite noisy in the room above the kitchen. On the upside we enjoyed the views and the lovely sunsets. The house is fairly well equipped and was warm and comfortable. We were blessed with very good weather and only had one half day of rain. The house has a certain charm and perhaps faded glory. It is very quiet and peaceful but only a stone's throw away from walks, shops and Great Malvern. We walked to Malvern along the side of Beacon hill in about 25 minutes and to British camp in about 45 minutes. There are buses available if you only want to walk one way or you could use two cars. We loved the French windows that were perfect for our late summer weather. I must say a very big thanks to the owner and his locum cleaner who rescued my younger daughter when she managed to lock the keys in the studio annex. Overall we had a very lovely stay and I would book this cottage again. There was loads to do and I wished we had been there for two weeks rather than one. We enjoyed the games but did not try the records or the projector. A radio would be a nice addition to the facilities but we brought our own with us. Excellent for those who treasure peace and quiet, lovely views, lovely walks but easy access to civilization. The Red Lion in Malvern did a very good Sunday Lunch and there are plenty of interesting shops and supermarkets to suit all tastes. Not quite perfect but quite close and well worth a visit.   One of the best appointed holiday lets we have ever stayed in, not only was the property perfect for our needs, well equipped and presented but the location was too!

  From the welcome pack on arrival (which Geoff personally made the extra effort to alter as we are both non-drinkers) to the supremely well kitted-out kitchen, bathrooms and without doubt THE most comfortable bed either of us has ever slept in! Outside is a lovely little courtyard for sunny morning breakfasts and down the garden a decking area for evening relaxing watching the colourful paragliders lazily passing overhead. Stunning view across to the Cotswolds in the distance make for some great photo opportunities too. The location was ideal for exploring the Malvern's and surrounding areas and only a mile from the Three Counties Show Ground should you time your stay for one of the many events that go on over the year. Based at the foot of the Malvern Hills themselves it is ideally situated for keen walkers, dog owners and mountain bikers, just a five minute walk up the road and you're on the trails up the hills for what are some of the best views anywhere. We have had the best two weeks hear and could have stayed longer, no hesitation in recommending Geoff & Glynn's lovely cottage to anyone!

  We arrived after a 6 hour drive.

  The front garden was overgrown,walked to rear of property and the rear garden was grossly overgrown,the table and 2 chairs were on the uneven grass, could not be used .. Entered the property and my wife compaired it to an old peoples home,no curtains in kitchen for privacy,a locked bedroom upstairs, the property to our left had filthy curtains and we thought there maybe squatters in residence as the fencing was falling down and the whole scenario made my wife feel uneasy about staying. We then sat in the lounge area and all you got was moths flying around in your face, very off putting. As we were so tyred due to our long journey we decide to stay the 1 night. We then left the following morning at 5.15 am to travel home. Due to all I have said I would expect a full refund for the 2 nights we did not stay and also a refund of the cleaning charge as there was cobwebs all over which we pulled down.I would have thought sykes cottages would inspect these properties to make sure they are upto spec,As this one was certainly not

  We have just returned from a week at Yew Tree Cottage.

  We honestly cannot recommend this property and its location enough. An absolutely lovely cottage with amazing views across the Malvern Hills. A super area with lots to visit and wonderful scenery. The Cottage: absolutely perfect in every way ... immaculately clean in every room, very comfortable and warm, fabulous jacuzzi bath, jigsaws/books/board games, and a huge selection of DVD's. Wonderful, completely enclosed garden perfect for your dog and a bowl of Bonio biscuits - sadly we had just had to have our baby put to sleep before arriving but she would have loved it and it was the perfectly secure space for dogs, and their humans to enjoy. For the humans - a welcome selection of hot drink sachets, milk, bread, butter: thank you xxx. The Owners: so welcoming and approachable, but never encroached on our stay whatsoever; just knew they were available if we had a problem, which we didn't. I would have absolutely no hesitation at booking this wonderful holiday home again - only wish was that we had booked longer lol !!

  The chocolate box lives up to its name. You enter into a small hall bedecked with mirrors lit by two amazing lights 3 doors leave. To the left you have a bathroom complete with a double bath surrounded by old wood and verdigris coated copper. It also sports an antique mirror. The middle door leads to a double bedroom with a really comfortable modern four poster bed. Another unique light sets it off. Then we move to door 3 and the main living area. Once again a great colour scheme set off by multi coloured lights and another 2 great lights. Remote control blinds including one that doubles as a TV projector screen cover the windows. Great views from the back. Off road parking is available. It has only one negative and that is the lack of outside space. However across the road there is a very quiet road leading to a track up on to the hills great for those short doggy calls of nature. We were lucky to be the first guests at this place and I would highly recommend it.
