Perched above the village of Ballingham, in Herefordshire, Wye Nest is a newly converted holiday home. The detached coachhouse has a modern and comfortable layout. An open plan living space includes a well equipped kitchen, dining area and a comfortable living area where bi-folding doors open up to enjoy the full view of the river, across the valley and you’ll find all your home comforts including a Smart TV and Wi-Fi for entertainment. The double bedroom enjoys the same impressive view with a juliet balcony too. Outside there is a decked area, where you can cook something up on the gas barbecue or simply sitting out and enjoy the peaceful setting while drinking your morning coffee. The garage below can be used to store bicycles if required (shared with the owners who live next door).
Wye Nest is the perfect bolthole for a peaceful countryside escape. Sat in an idyllic spot overlooking the meandering river below, the picturesque views from Ballingham Hill are to be relished. A popular spot for outdoor enthusiasts, the area is ideal for hikers and cyclists as well as for canoeing and paddle boarding. The village itself is peaceful, with a church and village hall. Most amenities can be found in neighbouring hamlets, less than 2 miles to Carey where you’ll find a rustic country pub and restaurant.
Herefordshire is predominantly known for its beautiful landscape of rolling hills, farmland, and the River Wye running through the Wye Valley and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Herefordshire is scattered with ancient castles, cathedrals and medieval market towns to explore as well as its agricultural heritage, you’ll be able to enjoy lots of fresh local produce from independent sellers.

Had a lovely time at wye nest, the hosts Sally and Chris were very welcoming. The place was lovely we everything you need for a peaceful getaway. Definitely be revisiting, amazing views and a great place to relax.

This holiday home is beautifully equipped and very clean. It has exceptional views to the front and a large decked area to the rear. The owners have thought of everything and are very knowledgeable about the surrounding area if needed. You couldn't wish for more. It is in a rural area so you would need a car to reach most amenities.

We visited this lovely place for a week in June 2026. It is a very nice place in a beautiful location. It is remote but lots about with a drive. You can see the river and surrounding areas from both windows and have private outside space! Chris and sally are lovely hosts and very helpful which made us feel very welcome. The car charger made it very easy as we charged overnight so did not loose any holiday time. This is a well equipped, beautiful place and although we only cooked breakfast, there is plenty to self cater with a dishwasher and washer dryer it makes it really easy to relax and not worry about packing loads of clothes. There is an airer tucked under sofa which we didn’t realise until going home so everything is thought of. We will definitely be visiting again if they will have us!
