Venture a little further afield for Ludlow which is 8 miles from the property to take scenic strolls through, Mortimer Forest, marvel at Ludlow Castle, and don your finest clothes for a day out at the races at Ludlow Race Club Ltd. Take a short drive to Shrewsbury to treat the history buff to Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings, Shrewsbury Abbey, and Shrewsbury Castle.

The Roman village of Leintwardine, which is mentioned in the Doomsday Book, lies in beautiful Herefordshire and the area offers visitors many lovely walks in all directions, close to the Shropshire border and boasts a Grade II listed parlour pub which serves a large selection of real ales. Close by is the pretty village of Bucknell which nestles on the banks of the River Redlake and lies within the Shropshire Hills - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering a pub, butcher and general store. The historic medieval market town of Ludlow is situated on the River Teme, amongst the outstanding countryside of the Welsh Marches. With more than 500 listed buildings, Ludlow’s medieval street pattern remains almost intact and provides a fascinating backdrop for the town’s regular street markets, held in the shadow of the castle and showcasing a range of goods - from cheeses and fresh produce to books and local crafts. Ludlow is renowned for its shopping, with a number of antique and art and craft shops, along with a Michelin-starred restaurant and numerous tea shops, pubs and inns. Ludlow Castle is over 900-years old and contains fascinating examples of architecture while below, the Millennium Green offers a large public riverside green and the popular Green Cafe. Ludlow plays host to many food and drink festivals in spring and autumn, as well as the Medieval Christmas Festival and Shakespeare and Arts festivals in the summer.
