The Milking Parlour is a beautifully presented cottage in the Shropshire countryside, highly praised for its spaciousness, cleanliness, and well-equipped facilities. Guests consistently mention the comfortable communal areas, ample bathrooms, and sociable layout, making it ideal for families and groups. The hot tub, games room, and thoughtful touches on arrival are frequently appreciated. While a few minor maintenance issues and occasional comments on mattress comfort are noted, the overwhelmingly positive feedback highlights the property’s welcoming atmosphere, excellent amenities, and stunning location.
Cleanliness is repeatedly praised, with guests describing the property as spotless, tidy, and well-presented. Only rare minor issues are mentioned, such as a wasps' nest that was quickly resolved.
The cottage’s peaceful countryside setting and proximity to scenic walks and local attractions are highly valued by guests, who describe the area as beautiful and tranquil. One mention of a narrow entrance road is the only minor drawback.
Guests find the property spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room for large groups and families. Some mention very comfortable beds and sofas, though a few note mattresses being too soft or springy for their preference.
Facilities are a standout feature, with a well-equipped kitchen, multiple bathrooms, hot tub, and games room. Minor suggestions include maintenance for the games room and outdoor seating, but these do not detract from the overall positive experience.
Many guests mention thoughtful touches such as homemade cake, wine, chocolates, and essentials on arrival. While these gestures are frequently appreciated, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Plenty of sitting space inside also Thank you for a great stay!

Bedrooms are lovely as are the bathrooms. The downstairs lounge/dining area & kitchen are a lovely sociable area. Due to the heat we didnât venture out as we had 2 dogs in our party, spent our time chatting & catching up. We cooked 4 full evening meals for 6 in the very well equipped kitchen. Hosts were very quick to respond to our request for an extra parasol. Would highly recommend this property.

The facilities inside the property were great, perhaps a bigger teapot!. The hot tub was appreciated by some of the family although the chlorine content was a bit high and clothes smelled of it even after rinsing more than once. The games room area needs addressing, the floor panels werenât put together with some moving and some of the games had been abused/misused and had some items missing, this didnât stop the kids, and adults, from having fun, feel it needs mentioning though. Would we use it again, definitely.
