The local market is 300 metres away, and you can take early-bird walks along the River Teme for which runs alongside the castle. Keen walkers can hop on the 30-mile Mortimer Trail (2 miles) from Ludlow to Kington, or venture 10 miles north to the Shropshire Hills Natural Landscape for a 6.5-mile round hike up to Flounders’ Folly.
