Well-positioned and beautifully presented with some antique furniture, it boasts original, quirky features and is only a 5-minute walk from the centre of the town and a 3-minute walk from Ludlow’s train station. A cosy wood burner and gas fired Aga are amongst the treasures of the house. From the sun room/conservatory there is a garden room to enjoy. Guests can also enjoy a private enclosed rear garden, a separate, small walled courtyard, and it is located on one of the most prominent streets of this charming medieval town. Ludlow is overshadowed by its own majestic castle, as it was once, like York, a seat of Government in Tudor and Stuart England. Now hosting the famous food festivals and events throughout the year, there is always a lively atmosphere here. It has a reputation for fine foods, award-winning restaurants, speciality and antique shops and even a racecourse. An excellent base to explore the unrivalled countryside for picnicking and walking or nearby towns such as Bridgnorth and Bewdley (Severn Valley Railway), Ironbridge, Much Wenlock, Church Stretton, Tenbury Wells and Leominster. The cathedral city of Hereford with its chained library and Mappa Mundi are all within a short drive, as are historic houses such as Witley Court, Berrington Hall, Croft Castle, Stokesay Castle and Powis Castle on the Welsh borders. Acton Scott, an historic working farm and the Secret Hills Discovery Centre are all just a few of the nearby attractions, so you will never be short of something to see. Probably one of the nicest places we have stayed. So handy for the town and all the amenities and the cottage itself was delightful, it is comfortable well equipped and suited us as a family of 7 as we had space to be together or have different areas within the house. I would love to stay here again. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming it was a real treat

A quirky, spacious and characterful building in the perfect location for getting to the local shops, train station, and walks. Not noisy at all despite proximity to the road. Friendly owners who where helpful and gave good details before arrival. Tea, coffee, and milk already there when we arrived. Lots of board games and leaflets in the house too to keep us occupied and let us know what is available locally. It would be helpful if the very uneven, slippery stairs were mentioned better in the description as some people could struggle with them. Also, the macerator located in the shower room caused issues, which effects the whole shower room as all the plumbing goes through it. The issues with that macerator caused backflow in the shower and we did not want to use that shower room again afterwards. This seems to be an ongoing problem as instructions on how to deal with issues are given at the property and by the hosts. Despite that, the stay was lovely and the property was great.
