About this property

Tucked away on the outskirts of Minsterley in Shropshire, is this lovely, two-bedroom detached barn conversion, Linden Barn. Enjoying a fantastic location on the grounds of the owner’s home, with views of the paddock and resident horses, as well as exceptional views of the Shropshire Hills AONB which backs the property, Linden Barn is a fabulous dwelling for couples or a family of four seeking a getaway to the countryside. Step into the contemporary kitchen/diner, where you can look forward to whipping up mouth-watering meals, ready to savour at the dining table for four over a bottle of wine or alfresco out on your very own private patio, where you can truly experience dinner with a view! After dinner, retire to the sitting room, where you can kick-back and relax on the plush seating whilst selecting a film from the TV as the evening’s entertainment. After a day of hiking through the Shropshire Hills AONB, soothe your muscles with a soak in the bath or wash away the day with a refreshing shower; there is also a heated towel rail to keep your towel warm. As your eyes grow heavy, retreat to one of two beautifully decorated double bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite shower room and both offering plenty of storage. Take a stroll through the well-kept grounds of the owner's home, where you'll be greeted by a number of friendly ponies who are eager to meet you! In Minsterley, head to the Crown and Sceptre Inn for a refreshing pint and a delicious pub lunch, and if the timing is right, you might catch an event being held at Minsterley Parish Hall. In the nearby Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, hikers and cyclists can explore the varied landscape, stopping in at numerous quaint villages along the way to explore meadows, hills, and woodland. Be sure to make a stop at Snailbeach where you will find the Snailbeach Lead Mine and Stiperstones offering wildlife rich walks through its popular nature reserve. Find yourself in Shrewsbury, where you can admire the 11th-century Shrewsbury Castle's imposing sandstone architecture or take a guided tour of the historic Shrewsbury Prison's cells. Other attractions within the city include the remarkable Shrewsbury Cathedral, Shrewsbury Abbey, cruises along the River Severn and the vibrant Dingle and The Quarry, where you can picnic along the river or join the National Cycle Route 81. Adventure awaits at Linden Barn.

Minsterley, a thriving village in the Shropshire Hills, is only ten miles from Shrewsbury, a mediaeval market town. One of the oldest buildings in the village, a post office, a shop, and a great fish and chip shop are all located in Minsterley. Nearby Pontesbury offers take-away and restaurant options as well as Arscott Golf Club and Springlea Fishing Pool. The Pontesbury cycle/footpath is also just a mile away. For those who enjoy hiking and spotting wildlife, The Long Mynd is a great place to relax and take in the beautiful scenery. One of England's best-preserved towns, Shrewsbury sits on a loop of the River Severn and has more than 600 listed buildings. Shrewsbury's Summer Season is one of many festivals you can attend while you explore the city's charming cobbled alleyways and squares.. The Shropshire Regimental Museum is housed in Shrewsbury Castle, which was built in 1083 and has beautiful gardens and grounds. As a Shropshire village, Attingham Park, Wroxeter Roman City, museums at Ironbridge, the castle and Michelin-starred restaurant in Ludlow and Acton Scott's working farm, which was featured in the Victorian Farm TV series, are all within easy driving distance.

Barn was immaculate and Jo and Ray were very friendly, the welcome pack was the best we have ever had and it was cosy and warm. OWe had a very enjoyable stay, there are lots of interesting places to visit close by. Will certainly visit in the future.

Modern interior, warm, and spotlessly clean. One of the best cottages we've rented over 20+years. In the evenings, forget about the TV and just admire the panorama from the sitting room's 'full-wall' window/door. Super friendly and welcoming hosts, who provided a very generous welcome hamper too
