  • Julie, Chris & family

What a stunning location. We booked Marton Hall for a long weekend, for our family, to get together & celebrate our daughter’s 30th birthday. Giles & Honor were so welcoming & gave us a tour of their beautiful house & grounds. They also left us several cakes, goodies and fizz, so thoughtful & much appreciated. The bedrooms & bathrooms are so spacious and beautifully finished. Every room is so well presented. Everyone had a brilliant weekend and the outside bbq, log burner & seating were a big hit. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here, and the grandchildren enjoyed feeding carrots to Ronnie. Many happy memories made.

It’s hard to overstate how special the experience of staying at Marton Hall is. The house itself is a beautifully restored Arts & Crafts manor—grand and impressive yet deeply welcoming and unstuffy. The restoration undertaken by hosts Giles and Honor has been done with incredible care and attention to detail, blending the past with modern comfort. All six bedrooms are en-suite, and every room has its own character—some with window seats overlooking the fields, others with deep bathtubs perfect for unwinding after a long day. We spent a lot of time in the spacious, well-equipped kitchen cooking together (and loved the two dishwashers for our large group!). The games room was a big hit, and the grounds were memorable for walks by the lake, afternoons playing croquet, and evenings by the fire in the outdoor pavilion. On the occasions we could pull ourselves away from the house and grounds there was plenty to explore nearby. We couldn't have picked a better place to gather for a week of restorative vacation and are grateful to have found it.
