Guests say

The Pump House offers a peaceful and unique countryside retreat, praised for its beautiful surroundings, cosy atmosphere, and well-equipped interior. Guests appreciate the tranquil setting, secure garden for dogs, and thoughtful renovation that retains original features. The property is ideal for relaxation and exploring local walks, with many guests eager to return. Minor drawbacks mentioned include the absence of a freezer, occasional cleaning issues, and a few comfort preferences, but these are outweighed by the overwhelmingly positive feedback on the location, comfort, and overall experience.

Most guests found the property clean and well-presented, with several describing it as spotless. However, a small number of reviews noted issues such as cobwebs and crumbs, indicating occasional lapses in cleaning standards.

The location is highly praised for its peace, seclusion, and scenic countryside setting. Guests enjoyed the estate's grounds and proximity to walks and local attractions, though a few noted the remote access and limited estate walks.

The cottage is frequently described as cosy, warm, and comfortable, with special mentions of the large bed, underfloor heating, and roll top bath. A few guests found the sofa or bed less comfortable for their personal preference, but overall comfort is rated very highly.

Facilities are generally excellent, with guests highlighting the well-equipped kitchen, secure garden, and quality bathroom. The main suggestions for improvement were the lack of a freezer and a downstairs toilet, and a couple of comments about the TV size.

Many guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as welcome packs with tea, coffee, milk, and biscuits, as well as festive decorations. Please note that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Beautiful and quirky property set in lovely location. Everything that we needed for our 4 night stay. Good quality fixtures and fittings with a lovely bathroom. Great views across the adjacent countryside. Very comprehensive arrival instructions sent a few days before we were due to arrive. Parking just outside the enclosed garden. Last part of the road to the house is a bit rough, but we took it steady in our Polo and it was fine. Would highly recommend and hope to stay here again in the future.

Enjoyed our weekend stay in the Pump House, only thing which could be improved was the cleanliness.
